Hi Guys,
Got my CD player put in a while back and have a whole lot of stereo stuff I can reuse from my Volvo that was kindly written off.
I don't know what the front speaker size is as I have never pulled the cover off as they produce a nice sound, however I was thinking of connecting in the rear my 360 Watt 4-Way pioneer 6x9s and my 2 channel Audiobahn Amp. I cannot be bothered using the 4 channel sub and hooking up the sub woofer again, even though it was a nice sound.
Thoughts/Advice on the install would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Tom

Sounds like a fairly straight forward setup.
Just make sure your parcel shelf has the 6x9 cutouts.
Adding a set of 6x9's and small amp will give you alot of extra sound with minimal fuss especially as most 2nd gens have the cutouts already.
The dash houses a shallow mount 4" speaker which is better used as a fishing sinker and the doors can house a 6.5" no worries.

Woah what?
What model is your TS, do you have speakers mounted in the doors up front or in the dash?

easy as to do mate, unless you do some decent sound deadening, no point in putting a sub in a 2nd gen as they rattle like all buggery.
if you do the front speakers, put them in the doors but if the stockies still sound decent then go for it. also, my amp runs fine underneath the passenger seat and wiring is much easier too.

Cheers. This is what I wanted to know. Holes need to be cut out but the guy who is doing it knows what to do with mounting 6x9s on these cars.

They're in the dash...

yeah, it's usually just the rear parcel shelf overlay with some thin board underneath covering the speaker holes.
also, lugo was surprised because if they are the stock speakers in the dash it's unlikely they still work, let alone sound good, i have a feeling they've been replaced
at some stage. (correct me if i'm wrong lugo)

Your might, mine doesn't.
