hey guys,

im lookin at getting a full cat-bak done but i have no idea where to go. went down to ian diffens jus to get an idea of the cost and i feel i might b gettin ripped judging by some of the other posts. ideally i want a 2.5" all the way through, with dual 2.5" or 3" tips, but im not sure what kid of muffler i should b lookin at. not sure if i should go for a canon or an oval shaped straigt thru system, also i have no idea what brands. I/D quoted about $400 fitted and tuned but realistically i dont wanna spend that much if i dont have to. but most of all i dont want my car to sound like a lawn mower like some of those pocket rockets out there :D

plz excuse my newbie-ness :D

cheerz,

aaron

if you need mufflers..this jap guy here can help you...call him (makoto) on 0402360393......he has lots of mufflers at really good prices...cannon type $120, ..and if you want to get a cat back...go to OZ Fit 15 Teddington St. victoria park....i guess it's around $150...

mate you have a 4 cyc? if you do (or i could be reading wrong) you shouldnt be getting 2.5 inch exhaust.

anyway. for the piping it shouldnt be anymore than $200-250. and thena muffler is like $120-150

so yeh it does ad up. just upto the buyer. but shop around. definately ALOT more places to go than just an ian diffin. try some Carline's (balcatta, malaga, Heaps) etc

hey mate. yeh well its upto you of course. but i mean i have a V6 3.0l and im not even getting a 2.5 inch exhaust. im sticking with a 2.25. ive been informed that unless i have some fairly decent mods (cams etc) my 2.25 will be fine. now if u go and stick a 2.5 on a 4 cycl i think u will find you will lose alot of backpressure

cheers

losing backpressure = less power

stick with 2.25 asfor mufflers, i wouldnt go cannon i would go for a lurvly magnaflow muffler with duel 2.5" tips, so sexy i cant wait til i get enuff money to get mine

i've got a 4 and 2.5inch cat-back piping, and i actually noticed a power increase and smoother revrange. Also got rid of a flatspot i had at about 3800rpm. So yeah........
