Hay all

I got a whole rear engine mount not just the insert its the whole unit. I braught it for $145 from auto barn. And it looks differnt to the origional one but bolts up. I fitted it and the whole thing sags down cause it hasnt got the rubber on the bottom like the old one. It dosent look right either when i dropped the car looked like alot of pressure on that mount.?

Mate, check your LH and RH mounts as this should not be taking any weight when the engine is off

These mounts are more roll stop mounts than they are actual engine mounts, you should be able to remove one of these without really moving the engine far at all

how did you support the engine when removing the mount?

2nd that notion, just jack it up take the load off the mount, pop it out and put the new one in. I do recommend getting 2 x stands, because you should never trust a jack. Seriously.

Guys, please read over this thread and rethink

First of all "You should never trust a Jack Stand" like WTF, if you want to jump under a jack be my guest but please dont tell people on these forums not to trust a Stand

Secondly, there is NO need to support the engine for a roll mount being changed, these do not take weitht of the engine and only prevent roll. If the engine needs to be supported then you have other issues that need to be investigated

Same question as the OP
I have a new OEM engine mount, a Poly front roll stop, and a new rear roll stop. there still is excessive roll of the engine, i can see the front roll stop isnt moving at all, but there is a lot of movment at the back, again with the OP my rear roll stop looks different to the original one? why does this look different and doesnt look as strong?
a worn GB mount shouldnt allow for excessive engine roll? as it only supports engine/GB weight?

Also anything wrong with having a front and rear polyurathane roll stop mounts?
