Ok so as the title suggests, I wan to colour code my car. I gather people on here have done it before. But how? I want to colour the skirts on the bottom and the middle strip on the side also. (have a look at pics if you don't understand.) The black things basically.
I have the colour paint. Should I take them off? They seem like there glued on or something.
Or put tape and newspaper around it and just go for it?
Thanks guys.

For the door strips - just leave them on, they're quite soft and are prone to bending then not sitting flat when trying to re-fit.
The skirts are easily removed. About 10 phillips head screws under the car each side.
And from memory* a couple of 10/12mm bolts (front: hidden under a pop-off cover next to wheel well. Rears: where the mud flaps bolt on)
- Doors: Mask up with tape and paper
- Give them a quick sand with 600grit wet/dry sandpaper
- Clean with wax and grease remover
- Prime then paint
Not sure if you've painted before but don't skip on the prep work otherwise they'll end up peeling after a few months.
* = It's been a long, long time since I did mine and well... I'm a guy...

Get some GE skirts if ya gonna go to the trouble of painting. Blackbull has some brand newies......Just an idea.

So I should just paint the black strips now and then just wait for new skirts before I paint them.

I was told by a paint shop, that painting the black plastic side skirts won't turn out as good. As they will never sit right once taken off again. Not sure if true, but that stopped me from doing it.
But im open to be told otherwise.

I agree leave the body moulds on. Wait to paint strips and skirts together if you go the GE ones.

Mine were painted on the car, by those mobile painters, idiot did not cover my chromed wheels. So besides me spedning 2 hours polishing the paint of the wheels it was an ok job......
