just noticed recently that my sunroof has been rattling alot when going over bumps and rises in the road. i havent got any major audio causing it to rattle either. just wonderin whether ne 1 else has encountered this problem and whether i should be worried about it? and if so would it cost a lot to fix? thanks guys.

is it a plastic rattle or rubber rattle?

If its a plastic rattle, its the covers that cover the ugly metal frame of the sunroof. i just pulled mine off, put some big chunks on blutak under there and put it back on again. seems to hold it firm enough so it doesnt rattle anymore.

If its the rubber squeaking over bumps, not much i think you can do. there maybe a grease or lubricant you can get that softens the rubber to reduce this problem, but im not sure, and wouldn't want to play with it too much in case it affects its water tightness.

iono if its plastic rattle to be honest. it sort of sounds like the glass is movin a lot but there doesnt appear to be any water comin in so im assumin its alright. u can really hear it once u have the carpeted section slid back if that helps lol? do i have to take off the roof lining at all to get to the plastic covers??

Use a stick of that drylube stuff on the rubber seals, that should take care of the squeaking and maintain a watertight seal.

ok ill try giving that a go. umm any particular place i can get it or is it an all round kind of thing??

Mine rattles, it appears to come from the passenger side plastic on the underside of the window.

Sometimes I hold that bit with my hand and the noise goes away.

Been meaning to pull it off and look but havent been bothered, prob use a ball of blutac to stop it rattling.
