Agreed, I've been monitoring the prices of 380s for months now and the prices of up-spec models like the VRX & GT have been steadilly rising, especially the low k ones.

Plenty of high k ex fleet and ex Gov base models have hit the market in the last year or so, for around the 13k to 15k mark, but even they don't seem to be dropping in price lately.

And manuals are getting rarer and rarer, and as a result seem to commanding a premium price, especially in VRX form.

Maybe the word has finally got around that the 380 is the bargain of the century and is driving the prices up?

The hardest one to find is a series 3 VRX with.....

(a) sunroof
(b) leather interior with VRX monogram
(c) bluetooth
(d) low klms

The 380 is a bargain, have seen some for 12k on carsales in the laqst month

check this out...

1. Tradingpost is now the most useless, steaming pile of shit on the internet.

2. Carsales would indicate that VRX's series one and two with kms ranging from 20,000kms to 60,000kms are going for between $16k and $19k. Series 1-3 GT's with between 16,000kms and 100,000kms are going for between $16k and $26k.

No doubt great value for money.

they are certainly rarer in manual.

I got my one owner, Nov 2005 GT with 29,000kms for $17k (first registered Sept 06). The seller wanted $20k. They refused my first offer - then called me over 1 MONTH later saying they will reluctantly sell it for $17k (they had received delivery of their new BMW!)

Now that I have had the 380 for a while -I think it is a deadset bargain as it has all the fruit, leather, sunroof, service history, warranty remaining etc. The body is as tight as a bank vault and this is a great cruiser.

But lets face it - it is a good car but the 380 is not in demand guys. What people are advertising them for is meaningless. Eventually people realise that they are dreaming and need to drop their asking price.

I had no idea about the roadside assistance until I received a card from Mitsubishi (when I changed the ownership details). The previous owner didnt' tell me about it.

Same here! Didn't know until the keys got locked in the boot one day, it was a pleasant surprise when the Mitsi dealer said someone will be there in about 20mins!

The manuals have always been rare.... I thought I was going to have to travel to QLD or Victoria to pick one up. Then, as luck would have it a manual VRX with leather & sunroof came up only 15 mins away from my place. The same dealer also had another manual VRX which was also blue with only 8000K's but didnt have leather.

I think its each to there own on the rear spoiler. I do however like the GT and early VRX lights and spoiler though. In the decided on the sporty look over the luxury, what a dumb ****. Never mind, love driving it anyways.

I don't understand this either, only a few weeks ago I was looking at Series III VRX's (more dreaming, debating buying one next year), and the prices seem to have jumped 4-5k! Dark red VR-X with around 30,000 on the clock was $22k a few weeks ago, same combo now $27k! Hope they come down a bit more when i'm seriously looking.

They want $28,999 for it, it's done 29,822 kilometres, and it's not even a 'rare' manual!

Knock $10,000 off the price and they might be talking. Even then it would be more than I paid 11 months ago for my manual with only 17,xxx on the clock - admittedly a 2005 Series 1 base model without leather, but it does have a sun roof!

Er, they are not doughy. The handling is terrible, but the ride is great. They are fast too. Faster than my old Ralliart Magna which is much faster than a stock 380. Aurions run 14.8 quarters remember... They have a very good motor.

Is that all? Surely would be down somewhere 14.4ish? KB's 3L DOHC TR Did a 14.8 and that motor puts out 163kw@fly/120kw@wheels, and thats got bugger all torque too

Wheels and MOTOR mags both put an Aurion 14.8 over the quarter, but they also only get 0-100km/h in 5.7 for an EVO X MR when Tarmac mag can get 4.9, so go figure.

Tuff, an Aurion weighs 1630kgs, KB's TR probably weighs 1300kgs.
