Alright I will try to explain the problem and see if anyone can help.
When I slow down like at a stop sign and go to take off again when i put my foot down to take off the car sometimes doesnt want to take off, i mean the speed will slowly biuld up but quite slowly, the same with the revs, it feels like it is trying to go but just cant. Then i put my foot down more and i hear a loud "clunking" sound then my car wants to take off. This only happens when my revs are fairly low no problem at higher speeds also it doesnt happen all the time just some of the time.
Any help appreciated
Paul

"clunking" sounds like a knock? somewhere on the leftish side of the engine bay? sounds like your oxy sensor is broke.

I had a previous (non mitsubishi) vehicle that did that once, turned out it wasn't getting enough fuel (needs lots when taking off from standing start) and thus some cyliners weren't even firing.

I replaced the in line fuel filter (got petrol in my eye...ouchy), cleaned and gapped the spark plugs - and the problem went away..

I hope for your sake it's just something like that, and not your bottom end

To check your O2 you will need to remove the side panel in the passenger’s side of the console well. There you will find the four wires for the O2 sensor. You will need to tap into the signal wire to the ECU (W-G) and attach a multi meter and earth the - to a good earth or tap into the earth on the O2.The voltage will read between 0.0v to 0.9v.The book then tells you what to do (attachment)

O2 not working, ecu may take over and run the car rich or it could run lean. Checking the O2 as I described is simple and will at least give you peace of mind. The meter should read .4v -.5v of a volt at idle and normal cruise and momentlly read as high as .7v or .8v when accelatoring and as low as .1v or .2v momentlly when you deaccelatoring then back to .4v -.5v.Foot to the floor should bring up the hightest reading of .9v.Forgive spelling errors.

it could also be that the auto is not down shifting as you slow down and when you accelerate again, its stuck in a higer gear (3rd maybe) and whe you put the foot down further, it
eventually shifts to 1st or 2nd with a thud. I'd suggest do a trans and diff service.

I was thinking somthing along those lines too Vlad,

Mr_mbquart having over 140kW at the wheels  might have somthing to do with it, not sure the autos can handle that much??? :D

nah thats not teh problem, it upshifts and downshifts fine. This happens in the ower gears at low RPM. Other than this problem the car is running perfectly

if itd from your front left then it wont have anything to do with your handbrake, that only affects the back wheels
