pretty sure you'll need H7's, which coincidentally are the most expensive ones out haha.

Phillips Crystal Vision, or Diamond Vision are prob my favs, nice a bright, good quality, long lasting

Hign Beam and Low Beam lamps are different bulbs - one is H1 and the other is H7. can never understand why H7 are so much pricier than other styles? Think Foggies are H3 if you have those.

I have Philips Vision Plus in my TJ, and some other Philips I bought off Steevo in my KJ, which are a combo of Crystal Vision and Blue Vision (I think). EDIT: I Think it is Philips day-2-Night I have in the daily, said to be about +50% more light, same wattage. Have lasted a yr or more at the moment. The KJ ones have only just gone in.

Search for threads about lighting by "HeathYoung" - they are golden..... excellent info and well written. The "blue" bulbs give less light.

Avoid cheap E-bay blue bulbs, some have had trouble with a coating burning off and clouding teh reflectors and inside of the lens.
Also buy reputable brands with UV-cut guaranteed, or UV can degrade to polycarbonate lenses of one-piece parras.
Avoid over-wattage bulbs (illegal anyway) due to plastic lens and plastic lamp housing - you may melt stuff - not to mention loom and relays.

Search of forums will bring a million results, many are worth reading.

My diamond visions lasted around 2 months :(

EDIT: nvm, the ground had just come undone, globes still working perfectly! :D

I've had phillips vision plus in for about a year, cost me about $70 from autobarn for the 2. Good distance but not as bright as standard headlights (although MASSIVE improvement over standard para bulbs). I think it was blue vision which are brighter, but don't have as good distance.

AFAIK these are the brightest you can go before the globes are "not fit for road use". Crystal/diamond vision were illegal last time I checked? but were a far better light.

NVM!!! Just went out to check the globe to make sure it was dead -Very bad idea. Took the globe out, looked alright so I went and got the multimeter out- Was only getting 6Volts. Turns out the earth just wasnt connected properly!! So then I spend 1.5 Hours trying to get the globe back into the holder! Arrgg what a crappy design mitsubishi made!! That little silver clip is impossible to get on while the battery plastic and the radiator fluid level tube are there!! Argg. I got it on eventually and now the diamond vision are working fine! :D I just hope I didnt damage the globe too much fiddling around with it while trying to get the clip on.

So some advice to others, before taking a dodgy globe out of the headlights, get the multimeter out and test to make sure that its not just a wiring fault!!!

Crystalvision's are legal as they are a flat-white colour, Diamondvisions I'm not so sure (they give off a blue colour).

Yeah diamondVisions are only for offroad use, but crystals are legal!

really? offroading? they seem unbelievably useless on the road, to think to use them offroad IMO is crazy. my mate had headlight issues with his commodore and opted to get diamondvision's and it was just as hopeless. he then transferred the bulbs to his 3rd gen and it was just as crap- but it looks good

Both the Crystals and Diamond Vision are NOT ADR approved or road legal under act 51 of the ADRS`s,Blue vison is the only legal one

also blue and crystal vision globes offer the same distance as a standard globe, but the Diamond vision offers less light and distance (lumens) than a standard globe

Offroad use in this instance is private use as opposed to public road use. Narva Bluepower is another good choice. It gives 80% more light and is 20% whiter.

Philips Power2Night is the model you're thinking of. I have them in my paras. The light output is whiter than the stock globes, but they're not super white or anything - I wouldn't recommend buying them for looks. They give noticably better output than the stock globes though.

Check here (http://www.invisionsales.com/bulbs.html) if you want a comparison of Philips globes.

For installation and what size globes

As for legal illegal I have NOT ONCE being stoped by the cops asking about the globes, and when I do stop for cops is just a breath test, absolutely BS about this legal brightness as I have seen HID lights way brighter anyway.

I have used Diamonds for three years now, they last 1 year+ or so. Looks blueish at first but when it warms up is looks normal than most lights.

I am using Crystals on my lancer, they look a ted less white and more yellow but still ok. IMO Australia sells Philip globes at way off the cost price. They can be bought in other countries at $10-20 less than here.

Its because of the colour temp (kelvins) and LACK of light that they could be targeted,as this is why they fail the ADR`s,and the word "brighter "will usually mean whiter,it is not a lumen measurement as soon as you tint a bulb ,you lose light output over a equivalent clear bulb, but many find this a acceptable trade off for whiter light, its up to you

till cops even challenge me and ask, I doubt they ever will. i am not suggesting everyone that is ok to break the law, but having used it for more than 3 years, i wont use any other globes for white light. Simply put i could act blur, and dont know about such thing as I thought it was a normal product. Dont forget, the cops have to ask what globes and you can still say Philips. seriously you know where I am going with this, I seriously doubt they even know and dare to chellenge you saying these are not legal lights. You have to remove them first.

Trust me on this one. You probably have more things to worry about than a globe. A RX8 looks whiter anyday.

and to be frank the rest are not white, you know what I mean when you have one.

you bet, dont waste money on pretending to be nearly there. :)

IMO you either go diamond or crystal or just stay legal save your money.

I use the Philips Diamond bulbs myself. Last set lasted just over 2 years. Just replaced left bulb last weekend as it blew.
Have a set of Philips HID's at home but somehow cannot use them as parra's stupid bulb covers are too close to the return wire, and sparks across... :( wasted money

Question, is it possible to put the globes from the original head lights into the paras? I got the H7 Artic Blues and they are a different colour to the original Artic Blues! Really annoying having a slightly brighter hi-beam then low beam

No, is it that difficult to buy new H7 globes for your paras?

I buy globes vs modding further to fit H4

Also, high beams are focused differently, and would appear brighter looking head on...

once you go HID's you never go back - i got a set for my Lo beams and driving lights that are adjustable in the cabin (remote control) from 35W to 55W (thats about from 55W halogen to 100W halogen!) - really good for when you are on a dark country road - and also when on comming traffic do not dip their Hi beams (cos essentially now i have 3 sets of Hi beams!),
