I am Running Clarion SRQ1620S Front Splits of a Sony 52x4 Head unit and I am looking for a 6x9 to intergrate with a 12 inch Ported Sub in the Boot...(150WRMS to the Sub)
Budget $120....
Brands Not to Recommend: Kenwood, Sony or Kingwood.....
Brands I have access to :
Pioneer
Fusion
Cadence
JVC
Clarion
It can be a 2-way or 3-way design as long as they fit in the stock holes and most importantly under the stock covers...
Reason why I need the 6x9's Cause the stock ones loose composure too soon.... and my rear passengers are complaining...... and to a degree so am I....

seeing as you have a sub you dont really need 6x9's
and nice set of 6 1/2" coaxials would go fine, but will need to make a spacer to fit in the 6x9 hole
easy to do and depending on speaker should fit under the stock cover
i've got eclipse 6 1/2" SE8365 coaxials in my rear speaker holes and the stock covers went back on, nice and stock looking :)
just my opinion

For ease I would go with matching rears to the fronts. Only 2 things stop them fitting:
*Huge stupid magnet boot covers
*Huge stupid mid / tweeter holders raised 100000mm over the woofer.
2 way would be fine.

I was leaning more towards the 6x9 as
1. Easier to install
2. Wont get the same fronts on the Budget
3. The 6x9 woofer would help to fill the low to mid thump that the 6 inchs wont handle...

I got 2 6x9 CLARION at the rear - 2 6" Clarion 3 ways at the front and an amp powering the rear 6x9's
i filterd the amp to HIGH freq - and turned of the bass from the cd player... I got a 15" clarion 750W rms to do the bass for me... Speaking of sound, its PLENTY - with the treb up it gets really loud...
however if your not thinking about geting a sub - id stil stick wtih teh 6x9s a beter all round speaker - bettre yet 7x10 if you can be bothered cuting the hole bigger to fit them

MDF and deadening will fix that. :D
Don't be surprised if you loose a bit of thump from cancellation with your woofer.

Nah Dude .. Cancellations isn't going to be too much of an issue... and as I said... its a Quick thing...
Already have the fronts on MDF but couldn't be bothered doing too much sound deadoning... I mean essentially, it just has to be a 6x9 thats going to be better then stock..'
If someone doesn't help me get a short list soon... Your gonna force me to do something I really don't want to do...........
and thats use Super Cheap Auto's Rampage gear as I have heard them !
Did I mention I was shopping.... Tommorrow ?

As I said, have a look at the SRQ6931R. RRP is $179 but Ryda sells them for $109 so obviously a lot of profit in those to get them down to $120. :D
