View Full Version : Re-flash! The sequel
Well after seeing the results of 2 interstate AWD's and 1 from here with identical mods to mine, got me wondering about my results.
Spoke to Steve Knight and he confirmed that he had found an intermittent electrical glitch with his dyno.(all sorted)
Anyway, we put it on the dyno today and it puts out the same power as the other AWD's....around 105 kw...:facejump:
For anyone not aware i was previously claiming a gain of about 30 KW.....the REAL gain is 12KW.
This doesn't change anything else I've said in regards to this mod......just egg on my face:happy:which I'm perfectly capable of doing myself. :iough:

I knew it....I knew there was no chance in hell an AWD would net 30KW's at all 4 wheels from a re-flash. Puts me at rest now lol
still, 12 Kw is a good gain! What about torque gains across the range?

12 KW is a great gain.
A piggyback for me netted only 7 KW and the 380 runs seemingly a lot richer. You did well.

Did you settle with 95ron or 98? I'd think 98.

fair enough

didn't notice.....i'm only running this engine for a few more weeks....it was just a courtesy thing for you guys after the claims I'd made.
Like I've said before though, the car went from lethargic to lively.

Mine was 15kw... Sorry to rub that in! lol
For the money the flash is a performance bargain! I have nothing but good things for say about it.

Better throw me into that mix too ;) As V2 is in the planning stage hehehe
query, with the 99KH ecu's having 2+ maps available on the stock ecu ~ can these be retuned as performance tune / safe tune etc so you can just disc your batt for 10 mins for a boring week at work, then come the weekend do it again, and load the other map?

In short no.

So Al, what was the glitch that Steve had in the dyno? Was it effecting AWD's or 2WD's as well?

Rear rollers.
So no effect on the FWD cars that he has run . He did say he was having issues with it when in AWD/RWD mode, guess he found out the problem.

As said already privately when I got mine done 10-12 Kw is a good gain for the price - cheap and still happy  May even drive my 2nd TJ AWD over for flash and drop in my 15k spare engine already waiting there. Probably cheaper than doing the overdue belt change with clattering hydraulic adjuster on start up (thanks for the diagnosis Adam).
haha, a spare motor for your spare AWD, you'd be crazy not to, and it'll still be the bargain of the century!
