Hey guys, I recently put a deposit down on a 03 KJII Verada GTVi (68000ks, Pewter, leather etc. $11990, great condition) and I'm looking into getting some rims put on it once I've paid off the finance.
A particular rims that has caught my eye are the XHP Dirty Dogs (http://www.bobjane.com.au/wheelset-details/wheelsetID/660/brand/xhp/ispt/Wheels/isu/46.html?sid=dclhajja4msk0895), however I know it is an unsuitable offset (+35), and it is also quite wide at 8.5 inches, would these fit the car properly without any major problems or would they be able to be modified to fit by means of spacers etc?

I quite like that style of rim, +35 offset is generally fine for a magna but Im not sure with a 8.5" wide rim. And I mite also add that you good a pretty good deal on that car with such low kms in a GTVi.

Yeah I think 8.5" would scrub..
That is a good buy...does anyone know what the difference between the KJ GTV and KJ GTVi is? The only thing I can think of is the GPS statelite navigation was dropped in the GTVi ... and maybe the Nardi stuff is only in the GTV?

Yeah I'm wrapt with how good condition it is in, previous owner was an older gentleman who drove it sparingly so I know it hasnt been thrashed. Heres a few pics.

Anyway, back on topic, would getting the guards rolled possibly fix this problem or is it most likely I wouldnt be able to get them to fit?

if you rolled the gaurds you will fit the 8.5" easy and it would look nice to. With such a nice looking GTVI why not get a more luxury looking rim to suit not saying the others you chose ain't good.

The "i" was added or removed (cant remember) due to a legal issue with Alfa Romeo.

I'm pretty sure the only difference is the GTV had the spoiler and GPS as standard while on the GTVi they were an option.

i dont think it is legal to go 8.5 wide. the stock ones are only 7.0 wide.

Good point, I forgot about that.
What rim style do you guys think would look good on the verada, I don't really want to go any bigger than 18' due to practically/cost issues? What about the new VRX lancer rims, I've seen them on the TL but how would they fair on a KJ?

Check out D-Vans car, he has them fitted and they look pretty good.
I know off topic, but does the rear badge actually sat GTVi? and was the car de-winged, or was that an option also?

Have you spoken with BobJane? My rims from them are 19" x 8" and they had a few styles that were 8" wide. Mine dont scrub when driving, only when the wheels are turned, going slow (like driveways etc) and you have a bit of extra weight in the car. All they are touching is the black inner panel which i think some people have tied back somehow to stop them touching. My car is a GTVi 2002 model.

8.5" wide +35 is no good. 8.5" wide +40 you can get away with. 8" wide +35 is fine.
