I put one of these in, got for $134 from JB. HUGE improvement over stock, even with stock speakers. Quite easy with the instructions on this forum.

I then put in a pair of JL splits, also from JB. Woofer in stock location using MDF baffle, stock grille in door trim. Sounds great. Tweeters are currently taped to where delta pods go, which I've ordered.

The interesting thing is that by taping the tweeters in various places and driving around, the delta pod spot gives BY FAR the best sound. JL recommended just above the woofers, but that sounded as tho' the vocalist was signing next to my boots, but with the tweeters up high, it sounds like Missy Higgins is right next to me.

That's a good price on the Alpine - I gather it was a run out or discounted price you bought it for? Most other quality CD receivers w/ USB & AUX start at $200 and up.

$199 at JB less 30% at their 3-day discount sale, and it sounds fine.
