Gday guys, purchased a new car (TF Sports) to replace my wrecked TF, the sports comes with a hideous red strip along the door... i was wanting to swap it with a black one thats on my old TF. does anyone know the best way to remove the plastic strip? is it just clipped in? Cheers. JM

Clips + soft e-poxy (the black sticky shit), should pull off - work from one end up - but you'll need to clean back the underside of it before re-attachment and get some more soft e-poxy.

AFAIK it is on with double sided tape, the sticky as @#$% variety.

The e-poxy they used is basically soft black glue... depends what you mean by 'normal glue', but I guess? You'd prob have difficulty getting it back off again if you wanted too though.

Do you if/where e-proxy can be purchased? or a similar glue?

Quick search the stuff is actually called vinyl adhesive spray - pretty sure most hard-ware stores will stock it.
Edit: You want 3M 80 or 3M 90
Edit2: Some of mine came loose (only reason I know this stuff), I just used dabs of super glue - I only had a small section to do, it seemed to work fine. I know I probably would damage the paintwork if I wanted to get it off for some reason though.

No offence but you are 100% incorrect mate, please research before you have someone screw up their car
The side strip DO NOT HAVE CLIPS OR, what was it, substrate radioactive epoxy.........
It is held on with double sided tape strips, this is why they often fall off over the years
Some use sikaflex to re attach them but this is not good idea as they will be bastards to get off later
Best idea is to go to a bodyworks supply shop, get some good double sided tape that also comes with a curing agent and use that. 3M auto double sided tape will also do the job nicely. Use the tape that is the same width and then punch the holes in it for the locators
To get them off, lift off at one end and gently pull them while using a blade to carefully cut the existing tape. That is of course provided that sikaflex or similar has not been used in the past
