Ok members i need your expertise.
this is what i,m thinking of buying.
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Mitsubishi-Legnum-VR4-Halfcut-V6-2-5L-Twin-turbo-Manual_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14Q QhashZitem230286b265QQitemZ150366237285QQptZAUQ5fC arQ5fPartsQ5fAccessoriesQQsalenotsupported

Now i need to know if anyone know,s if this would be hard to bolt in to a 98,TF magna.
I know that we would have to bolt in the loom, ecu etc
But has anyone done a bolt in like this before.
My mechanic just said to me to make sure the mounts are the same or will fit in the same position and the gearbox mounts etc would fit??
Hope someone can help.
looking to buy 2morrow if anyone on here can answer or know,s anyone who has done the bolt in.
thanks

It has been done before but as BJ31OS said the mounts aren't the same.

Although the engine and gearbox are on the correct side the mounts will have to be custom fabricated and you will have to do a slight gearbox mod to adapt it for FWD only application.

has been discussion on this before, word is that the gearbox needs to be changed over for a FWD FTO gearbox, but no actual proof has been found. Would be an interesting modification!

Yes we have, but i have been talking to some mechanics and they think that doing an evo conversion to my motor would be a waste of time.
They said why not drop back in a V6 motor.
If i did this i would like to do the twin turbo convert.
So u have said this mod has been done. Can u tell me who has done this so i can chat to them about how they went about doing this mod??

I'm not exactly sure if the members that done the conversion are still active members on here any more.

If you do some research around the place I'm sure you will find what you're after.

EDIT: another option you could look into is buy the twin turbo kit for your car from RPW.

It should be fairly easy to convert to FWD. With the Barina 2.0 Turbo conversion, the default and only gearbox is 6 speed manual 4WD. A blanking plate can be used to make it FWD only. Not sure if the same applies to this.

Buddy. $2200 is CHEAP. Buy it and work the rest out as you go. Custom engine mounts isnt that much of a big deal, install, test, take out, modify, test etc.

Then just hook up an SAFC II to correct your A/F ratios and you'll be laughing.

Sweet idea
That 2.5 TT is a weapon and would be awesome in a Magna but will not be a direct swap

I am so hoping to get rid of the corolla so I can get me a Legnum
FAT chance though
