Hi guys,

After changing the stock shocks with GT Gas Shocks, I have been so happy with the investment that I would higher recommend good shocks to anyone who have issues with their suspension setup.

The Stock shocks was pretty wrecked, there was very little dampering and it had lost a lot of its travel due to the lowering springs. there was a lot of bottoming out with the stock shocks but now it feels solid and have removed a lot of the noises, eg knocks and vibrations.

Simply the best mod i've done to improve the handling of the car.

I have them too. I had them put in (and lowered) about a month after I bought. Much better than than factory shocks :)

Agree. I used GTs only in my Cortinia and they were very good value for the money. Currently I have Pedders Sports Ryder tho. Good as well.

apparantly the pedders are just rebranded Monroes!
that's what i have been told from a fairly reliable source!

They are made at the same plant, however the Monroes are of higher quality.

Does the VR-X has Monroe Gas shoks from the factory?

Dunno if the VRX is just Monroe gas or Monroe GT gas... big difference in terms of dampering.

The TL VRX has Koni shocks and Enkei wheels same as the Ralliart.

I thought the Properties of Koni's and GT gas was similar but the Koni's LAST MUCH MUCH longer and can be rebuilt.

If you have too much body roll, perhaps you should go even stiffer springs? Dampers can only do so much, in the end Springs are the primary controller of roll.

Do you have Strut tower brace and rear sway bar? they help a little bit.

the whiteline rear bar helps a lot in cornering. i mean these cars heve no rear bar at all apart from the sports models and TL.
the konis are a whole other level from the monroes, less stiction, different bump and rebound rates, for good ride and handling, fully adjustable, and good for over 300'000 km. Monroes only good for 100'000 at the most, but i found monroe Sensatrac GT really good as an OE replacement.

yeah WD i got a front strut brace that i can't really tell the difference!
i think im gonna try a rear sway bar, and change the front shockers to konis if they do there job then the back are getting changed!
