Above link wouldn't work for me unless I removed the '.au'
Possibly a good idea as long as they're not too noticeable.
Don't suit some rims though (rims with a "perimeter lip")... http://www.rimskins.com/installing-rimskins-wheel-rim-protectors/
I wonder if they are clear or silver (or come in different colours).
has anyone tried rimskins? i'm thinking of getting some and trying them out.

(there actually cheaper on ebay than the online store)
Once you factor in the $5.00 postage for the ones on ebay it equates to a total of $49.95, which is the exact same price on the website (free shipping).
They look ok and will consider them, thanks for sharing.
These are the only ones I can find on ebay.

They look pretty crappy to me. Wonder how good they stay on.
If you want rim protection, there's a number of tyres that have it "built in"...my Maxxis z1's have a lip and sit proud of the rim by about 5mm.

yeah im thinking about it aye looks alright to me!
will end up being about 100 thoughbecause the 50 is only for two rims so a bit expensive although i guess if you spent a fair bit on your rims then a little bit more to protect them wont hurt..

Yea but if your rims are still in good nick you'd only really need them on the passenger side of the car caus that side would be what'd come into contact with the curb

Until it comes time to rotate the tyres, or you get a flat on passenger side!

Would this not cause a slight wheel balancing issue?

Doubt it, it's a continuous weight around the entire rim, and a negligible one at that.

got them today total cost 43.50 off ebay. there made of rubber and have a lip that locates on the edge of the rim. they are really light and will be interesting to see how they hold up. havn't had a chance to instll them yet.
$1.50 cheaper than Autobarn
I'd be interested on how long they stay on and last, in theory they seem like a brilliant idea!

So we have reverse sensors to alert us from backing into the car behind us, bonnet/car bras for the front, now we need rim skins to protect our wheels.....what next a portable radar to detect cars approaching from all sides....I think its a gimmick...but a great way to scam money...I wish I thought of it first...can't wait till I see it in real life, I need a good laugh. lol
edit: oops I should mention this is my OPINION and no insult is intended.

they are light matt grey its kinda like draft stopper stuff on sliding doors lolHmmm, guess they wouldn't suit black rims then (I was thinking about my planned next set of rims).
were not all perfect...
...guess i won't post pics then :doubt:Nah, post the pics up - would be good to see them.

If you are so concerned about riming your mags why not get granpa curb indicators, you know the wire on a spring, cost less than $10.

Springy wires? LUXURY!!! Back in my day, we had to go to rubbish-dump recycle shops, and put kiddies pushbike training wheels on our rides - sticking out sideways to catch the gutters. Cost $4- or $5- tops.
But that was on our bullock drays, none of this nancy-boy V6 fuel-injected don't-even-have-to-hand-crank-it-to-start stuff!! No siree!!! You young guys have it SOOO easy.
Seriously though, I have been guilty of kerbing rims, usually when tired or distracted, and one design or rim meant the ribs took the damage, not the edge/rim. Pale grey for these ones sounds a bit "off" though...... do they look allright on?
