Need some help. Anyone with King Lows, please measure from centre of huB to underside of wheel arch. What is the distance (front wheels and rear wheels)? really keen to know the difference in these measurements.

i've got king lows in the front, and king lows in the back but i cut off one dead coil at the top of the spring (still remains 100% captured in a standard size strut)
full tank of fuel.
360mm hub to gaurd for the front
323mm hub to gaurd for the back
this sits the sills relativley level.. give the appearance of a slightly bum down look.. vs the horrible nose town look the will have especially for SL front, and L rears *quivers with disgust*

i'd like to see what other hub-gaurd's are.. with a full tank of fuel also just to keep things consistant and give the most accurate comparison..

Mine are around the 370mm mark front and back with king SP springs

my car sits low at the back already, due to extra battery and stereo, so i am thinking of getting superlows all round. that sould be sweet?? However, up until i read this thread i was going to get supers on the front and lows on the back. that would look shity though, right?

i rekon you should speak to a suspension guy, tell them you want them both the same hight and how low you want. they might be able to mix and match but i rekon super lows on the front sound real low, im not sure about how much spare hight igot before its 'illegal' or impractical but i dont think it could be much.
but the rear can deff afford super lows.

Depends on what you want. Superlow/Low combo will give you similar distances between the tyre and the wheel arch, but you'll get a 'wedge' look. Lows all round will give you an even side skirt, but a pretty big gap in the front wheel arch.
I'm a fan of the Lows all round look - like matty, I hate the nose-down look of the SL/L combo. Plus, as far as King Springs goes, the Lows are actually a stiffer spring rate, so you'll get better handling with the Lows all round. The reduced height + softer spring of the Superlows isn't supposed to help ride comfort either.

Full tank of fuel and mine are 368mm front, 369mm rear to be exactly precise.

i was thinking of doin the superlow front and low rear setup because it was highly recommended on here. i dont suppose n e one could get a photo of lows all round and the superlow front and low rear combination could they?? just to get an idea of how each combination looks :D

I don't have my car at the moment, I have Lovell's Lows front and rear on sports struts and it is too nose heavy, looking to get the back end down some. Soon as the borrower returns my car I can get pics up, but probably won't be until next week.

Have a dig through Members Machines. I've got photos of my ride on Lows all round (although you'll have to go back a few pages for photos with the flares on). Off the top of my head, Magna Master has a VR-X with the Superlow/Low combo.

see in particular with 'shoot's' car how it looks nose down, like an old american muscle car...
what i've done, is the opposite, even with king lows both front and rear, it still kinda looked too high.. just mostly due to the body syling.. the hub to gaurd measurements are the same with king low front and rear.. BUT the gaurds at the rear are physically lower than the front (99% of cars are like this) actually its the front that is higher than the rear as the front has to have room to turn, and provide shock travel.. the rear.. just doesn' tdo much at all..
so my rear i have purposley and safley (contrary to popular beliefe) cut one dead bound coil off, i say safley, as it has not impacted negativley on the ride of the rear at all, whilst keeping the spring still 100% tightly captured.. to actually have the car look like it sits level, not nose down.. if anything i like the bum down 'cruiser' look..
hence my choice in this combination.. these are the only pics i have at the moment sorry..

ok ill check those out and see what i can find. quick question though do u find u scrape alot with lows all round or do u reckon that would be the limit before u start scraping? my worry was that if i did the low and superlow combination id be scraping constantly and i dont have anywhere near enough money to keep fixin it up if i do lol. and there are occasions where i have to get up and down some pretty angled driveways.

Your biggest enemy when lowered will be the concrete stopping blocks in carparks - you'll scrape a fair few of them with Lows, and you'll basically be guaranteed to scrape if you have Superlows. As long as you remember to park behind them, you'll be fine.
Driveways aren't too bad, although I *just* make my driveway at home - I scrape occasionally now that I've changed my tyre profile (10mm smaller than stock) so I guess lowering it again simply won't help lol. I rarely scrape driveways, as long as they're taken it nice and slow and at an angle. I'm not sure how much lower you could go before it became an issue though - on a lot of steeper driveways, I often get the feeling that I'm pretty close to touching.
A few scrapes here and there are inevitable, but they'll likely be *under* the bumper, so there's no need to repair them (and because you're only going to add more later :P)

yeah i guess thats fair enough. ill just look into lows and get some bigger wheels and see if that just gives it more of an illusion of lowness lol. and yeah i hate the concrete stopping blocks as well. ive resorted to reverse parking everywhere but then i have the problem of scraping the bottom of my exhaust tip :( i really dont like scraping incase u cant tell lol

Im not a fan of nose in parking either gotta be really careful, i try to park in familiar places when i go to town where i know the front clears...just (only cause the gutter has dropped) otherwise your screwed. Its a bit of a worry, in some places if the front won't roll over the gutter the back end sits out way past everyone else's car then you gotta worry about the back being hit.

oh well im glad that im not the only one who seems to notice this problem lol.
Hmm very informative thread. I might go the lows all round but i'll have a think. Wonder what it will look like with my tyres? is anyone running 235/45 on 17's with lows all round?
