Never heard of those brands apart from Nakamichi which are very good
But that doesn't mean the other brands are crap, just not mainstream enough like other brands

Wow I wonder what 6x9's they are lol

Vibe are a great UK brand, their costing is pretty much RRP.

SPL Dynamics is sold by Doran car audio, bit like the old US Tech amps and odd bits they import

Option Audio have hit the advertising pretty hard, never heard any of it in the flesh though. Mid range sub hit over 160db ( with 5 or something ) so they can get loud. Bigger sub has a 3.5inch exterior mounted VC, interesting, looks cheaply made though but as I said that is only from pics. Cheap amps which have been somewhat reliable I hear.

Nakamichi I think most people have heard of.

Steg are a decently priced amplifer brand, haven't heard much of them as they seem new in the country.

Had to laugh at this:
Crescendo is dedicated to the accurate reproduction of music. All Crescendo speakers are unique because they feature a 6.9” woofer instead of the standard 6.5”. This allows the Crescendo range to get deeper and sound fuller than a lot of other speakers on the market. Wow all that cone space... mean nothing really.

The entire Crescendo range is built from very high quality materials. Like? Sony is made from exotic metals as well...

For anyone who is looking for a good quality set of speakers, it will be very difficult to be disappointed with a set of Crescendo speakers. If you would like an even more refined speaker than both the Opus 5 and Opus 3 then the Opus 8.6 is a suitable upgrade. It features a bigger magnet than the other 2 models as well as a larger magnet structure. Hmmm bigger magnat means bigger magnat structure... no.

Aussiemagna needs some sponsers, I a member of Club CJ and they have serveral sponsers in less than a year for everything from a custom car shop, bodykits, performance companies, wheel and tyre places, clothing, stickers, photography etc etc.

VIBE Slick SLR12 12" Loaded Enclosure, VIBE Slick A0 Amplifier and a VIBE wiring kit for $470 posted. Seems pretty decent to me.

That's a group buy I made available to MCA. I'm thinking about extending the offer to other forums depending on the level of interest.

Those 6x9 speakers use a 10" motor ;)

Mr Charisma, add me to MSN: sales@shoppingsecure.com.au I would like to speak with you :) I've seen you on the VW forum before and there's a couple of things I would like to ask you.

As for the Crescendo speakers I'll admit I had a bit of a blank when I was writing the description but as MEASQ competition winners I don't think I need to prove the merit of the range ;) I will take that feedback on board and ensure that I detail the description a bit more in the near future.

Option Audio is definitely an up and coming brand, its one of the only brands I have that isn't European and this is simply because I believe they're great value.

I have got to admit that I'm very pleased with the level of interest in my website. If you have any questions for me please post them in this thread.

By the way I'm Joe and I'm the owner of Shopping Secure :)

would be a great idea also joe are you goin to be selling head units and would you also look at selling head rest screens and touch screens im sure you would get interest in the touch screens in the forums you sponsor and a range would be nice such as 6" 7" and 8"

Joe Bellissimo
26-08-2009, 11:03 PM
Well Option Audio does headrests so I already have access to them.

With respect to touchscreens and head units I'm currently finding an appropriate supplier. I'm trying to get some units that look factory and upgrade some of the standard units in newer cars which won't run with a regular aftermarket head unit. I do also have access to some Schneider ones but I'm not allowed to post them online.

Thanks for the feedback mate and I will definitely be looking into listing a few more items in those categories.

All good mate ill add you when i get on my computer and not on my phone lol. You just wrote the perfect description, they won comps, its a 6.9inch woofer with x oz magnet. Nothin wrong with what you wrote, it just didn't tell me anything since I know jack all about them :D So do we have approval yet?

this kind of made me vomit in my mouth a lil......

option audio amps are made by sound magnus, if you want quanities you can buy direct from the factory, also the current "flagship" woofer was desgined by a fitter at my work, and we ran 15,000rms through one in a proper box a a comp and managed to blow half the dust cap off and fill the car with smoke :-)

personally i dislike websites selling audio as they don't normally have overheads and will sell really cheap which means that car audio shops will be charging you more for install as they don't make the sale on the product,

i'm not admin so i'm SURE that they will be onboard as a sponsor, but just remember the local guy who has everything he owns on his business and offers good old face to face honest service

Joe Bellissimo
27-08-2009, 10:19 AM
No worries Mr Charisma I'm still talking to Mal about the finer details so I'm sure he will keep you posted.

Ford fella, thats only partially true. I've taken a look at JB and I've taken a look at Ryda and I decided to create something totally different. I focus on high quality gear which isn't available in the mainstream thus supporting the smaller distributors out there. I endorse independent installers with a good track record for excellent work, thus supporting the little guy.

You will probably be surprised to hear that shops actually have a couple of advantages over me :P With greater buying power they get better pricing. Being in a shopfront also means they don't have to absorb shipping costs like I do on my site.

Its a grey area but I essentially describe my business as a high quality audio shop with retail division being online and owned by myself and the workshops scattered around the country owned by their respective owners. I offer the same service that the local shop does (hence the reason I include shipping in most of my orders to ensure I'm not hiding nasty suprises in your orders) but that service is split up among many companies around the country.

Keep in mind though that a lot of the motivation for creating my website was from a lot of less than great exerperiences that myself and friends have had from the big retailers and smaller shops. I recently had to check out a non working amplifier which was installed by a reputable shop here in NSW. Turns out it was working, except the ground wire of another amplifier was run into the positive of the amp that I had sold. Experiences like that further stress the importance of my endorsed installer program, supporting installers who do the right thing.

If anyone knows any installers around Australia who you know are top notch, please don't hesitate on passing their details so I can have a chat with them.

Cheers.

I'm trying to get some units that look factory...

Definitely be interested in that. I have been looking for a double din touchscreen unit for a while that looks factory. Closest I've seen is a Pioneer unit, but it only has 2 pre outs and the iPod connection is on the front of the unit, not the rear.

i'm not admin so i'm SURE that they will be onboard as a sponsor, but just remember the local guy who has everything he owns on his business and offers good old face to face honest service

That's all well and good if you're in VIC, NSW or QLD but here in SA the last decent car audio shop that sold brands besides Pioneer or Alpine closed down about 2 years ago. My only option now to get say Hertz or Morel components is via online sellers.

Therefore, I'm all for Joe coming aboard as a sponsor.

I can appreciate his work but I guess you could sorta call him competition for me since he sells high end gear just like me. That said, if you check out www.shoppingsecure.com.au and compare it to the FHRX site you will notice that its MUCH easier to compare and buy products. I cater to a larger market since my site is designed to be used by someone who has little knowledge of car audio whilst FHRX caters to a more technically adept customer base. Technically we are competitors but I think we cater to a different group of people.

D-Van, so far I have access to Holden and Ford replacement units. If I cant find a supplier in Australia for Mitsubishi units then I will have to simply import myself.

Thanks for your interest btw, if you like Hertz and Morel you would love AD, my feedback from customers so far has been phenomenal.

More than happy to have you onboard as a sponsor.

As for FHRX being focused on more technically adept clients, while that is somewhat true, he also does take the time to sit down with a new person and share his knowledge. Seen him do this with a young kid, spent an hour talking to him about the basics of car audio - and he did not buy one thing.

If your refering to how low they will play, they have a proven sub motor structure as I have said many times before. Closest thing to a sub woofer you can get really. Pretty much all 6x9's have a High Mid "gap" or "trough" no matter what configuration they are in ( 2, 3, 4+ way ) if you hook them up to RTA. That is a minor flaw of an oval woofer.

Yeah the only woofer that I have literally seen someones nose bleed was a Vibe Space 15 MkI. Funniest thing I ever did see. Youtube Vibe and you get all kinda cool things like a "engineer" shooting a Vibe BlackAir 6 woofer. Awesome!

Joe Bellissimo
03-09-2009, 10:46 AM
Remember that these are my opinions and opinions of my customers:

Alpine - I can do better quality with SPL Dynamics (customer feedback)
Rockford - Customer feedback is that AD outperforms Rockford dramatically
Soundstream - VIBE is doing VERY well against them and I have no problem recommending VIBE if pitted against SS
Focal - AD will outdo Focal at the same price, once again that's from feedback.

I rely more on feedback than my personal opinion since I sell to consumers so its consumers opinions which count to me.

BlazinTP, Shopping Secure is a value centric company so its my goal to continue to give great value to my customers. Unless hell freezes over I will continue to do so :P

Having sponsors is good aslong as the sponsors stand by the club and its members. Its happening all to regular lately where sponsors do wrong by the club and its members ,then they get banned or have there sponsorship cancelled leaving members who have payed money in the lurch or with no avenue for warranty or getting refunds,I think the club needs to put in some measures to protect its members better. They are quick enough to put there hand up for sponsorship money at the start of the agreement but claim no responsibility when everything goes pear shaped. We all know the trouble thats happened with a certain trimmer not so long ago of which myself and a few others are still waiting for what we paid for or a refund over 12months ago now and more recently a forced induction and manifold seller (don't know the full story there) so i wont comment, but you get the picture so i guess what im trying to say is yes sponsorship is good if it all works out but also BUYERS BEWARE you might not get what you paid for and aftersales service might not measure up.To ADMIN please look into protecting the little guy your members better.

I find it unfortunate that your previous sponsors have done wrong by the club but I have no intention of risking my reputation or the agreements I have with my brands. Its hard enough getting my brands online and I don't plan on losing any from malpractice on my end. I have a good reputation on MCA as well for reference. Thanks mate :)

Alpine and Pioneer make some great stuff, especially as far as headunits go aside from some of Pioneer's entry level head units. However, due to how well known their brand name is, they tend to be over-priced. Soundstream, as they are getting their name out there in recent years, can get a little over-priced lately too I've noticed.

Some of the brands that Joe is offering here are quite superior to these brands $ for $ wise. For instance, I have heard some fantastic Vibe gear and it is very well regarded.

Kovac, for a good idea on where brand names stand, check out this thread (http://www.mobileelectronics.com.au/forums/index.php?showtopic=67923) on the MEA forums.
