Hi i have a NOV 1989 Magna TP SE,
i got the intake and head off a TR and i noticed the throttle body and plenum chamber is larger , the throttle body on my tp is only like 1.25" and the one i grabbed off the tr is 2.5" im wondering if i grab a Tr ecu and wiring loom , i got the tr injectors too would there be much of a performance increase, my mate says i could loose torque and get higher hp???? any ideas

Its EFI The intake between Tp and TR has been revised someware
by the way im talking 2.6 Tr
So what do you guys think, would it be worth fitting the tr one?

to fit a TR second gen
TR throttle body to a first gen engine has been tried and
so far no one has posted a succesfull attempt
problems to overcome
you need the second gen air flow meter and the wiring is way different
the TR plenium and intake manifold
is too large it will hit the firewall of a first gen
the throttle body bolts are different
as is its wiring for the engine computer and knock sensor are not present in a first gen wiring loom

sorry magna buff but it to tall it is able to be done just the inlet plenium will hit the bonnet as that the reason y i have a tm inlet on my tr motor coz if u look there is a good two-three inches to spare between the fire wall and the inlet plenium
but turely you are better off get the inlet for the tr are and tp chopping the up and getting the tr plenium weld on the tp runners

So basically I knew I would need to upgrade the TP's ECU to a TR ECU and the wiring loom,
so basically what you guys are saying is the TR Intake Manifold and the plenium will hit the Firewall.
And or the bonnet.
So what im thinking is attacking it with an angle grinder, like modifying the firewall then cutting and shutting it so the plenim and intake manifold will fit
I wanted to use the TR Injector Rail and Intake Manifold so any thoughts would be great
and overall would it be worth it?
2. And if I install a tr ecu magna buff , how would I go about the knock sensor??? Is it a resister job or???

I have gone to your new post to answer the question
if you do this and it works you will be the first to post this modification
