Ok not really that scenario, but close enough.

Been putting off installing vacuum gauge for ages thinking it would take a fair bit of time..turns out it took 2 minutes..damnit.

Issue is ive t-pieced it into all 3 places after the throttle body(before the engine) to check the result. Currently iam using the pipe labelled 'P' (Of 3 pipes labelled A/E/P). Now the gauge is working...kinda. When i accelerate the gauge gives a reading..but as soon as soon i let go of the throttle it goes to 0 and also 0 at idle.

I had to get my gas re-tuned, damn friggin hassle if you need to disconnect the battery, and asked the mech there and he said to attach the gauge to the little gold pipe facing towards the front of the car. All well and good but last night i read a post saying NOT to t-piece anything there. Is it indeed ok to put it there and will i get a reading at idle?

I teed my vac gauge line off the FPR vac line coming off the plenum. Its on its lonesome facing the front of the car.

there is no such thing as a vacuam... LOL just a lower pressure compared to higher pressure...
the reason ure gauge is staying on 0 at idle and after acceleration if there is no change in pressure and therefore baseline... under acceleration u create a vacuam from the increased incoming air and thus lower pressure moving ure gauge

You must have got a different vac gauge to what I have... Mine stays at 20hg when idling (or nearabouts) and goes to 0 at WOT. Sounds like you got a boost gauge or a vac gauge that uses the same mechanics as a boost gauge.

nah i got a vacuum guage...your a champ lucifier..used the pipe you using...and voila...20in.hg at idle, sweet. Mind you though fuel consumption has gone through the roof now...always want to see it go to 0in.hg. lol

HaHa! Reminds me of the early commodores - a huge vacuum gauge instead of a tacho. Spent more time watching it than the road initially until I decided it was irrelevant and best ignored. Unhooked it to get some peace and quiet, as it were . . . lol

just wondering, my brother is sending me 3 gauges (he doesnt like them haha) his got EGT boost and volt, the volt would be simple im assuiming but because my car isnt turbo'ed can i use the boost gauge as a vacuum or they different?
