*********** HELLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why is changing the parker bulb in parabolics so *********** awkward on the passenger side?!?!?!?!?1?1 I lost one of the bracket screws inside the headlight casing, and now that weird octagon shape thing for the low beam bulbs has fallen inside the parabola and I cant get it out

you complain too much, try changing the headlights (high and low beam) and parker from a TL/W then you'll understand where i am coming from

Ahaha I was taking a bulb out the other day on the passenger side so I know what you mean!! When I was finished I was about to punch a wall! Took me a freakin hour and a bit to try and get that little clippy thing to hold the globe in while I had to try and get a mini phillips head to do up the screw (Without dropping it as none of my small screwdrivers were magnetic) . Plus my hand couldnt really fit down behind the para to hold the clip (Damn coolant level thing), and I couldnt see the clip or the screw when my hand was there- And removing the battery cover didnt help at all...
The most annoying thing was that I didnt even have to take the globe out as I later figured out it was just a dodgy ground that was causing the globe not to work... :(

agreed, you think yours is hard
mate you have to pretty much take the whole engine bay apart to get to the lights in a TL/W
i think its easier to remove the front bar then take the whole headlight out lol

Why were ya undoing screws to get the parker light out? On both the pairs of paras ive got (1 piece and 2 piece) The gold metal "bulb holder" has unclipped out of the light by squeezing the bits on the sides and then pulling out at the same time.
Fiddly yes and the first time i changed globes i did unscrew and take the complete holder out of the light and then i saw the easier (and proper) way to do it.

I've changed the parker bulbs many times without any hassles, takes about 1 minute. No disassembly or complication involved.

Moral of the story.....buy a Verada.

Try a mark III Supra headlight, if you don't follow the exact instructions the flip up headlights might eat your hand. Literally. Like lop your hand off at the wrist.

BTW Cybermonkey, have you tried getting to the dropped screw with a long magnetised screwdriver or is it just out of reach?

On the feroza you literally have to remove the whole air intake GRRR and then the system that holds the lights in is an absolute POS

Yup now i know. Pete found it freaking hilarious. Found the screws inside the casing after shaking them out

lol, you shouldnt have had to drive out to my place to learn that lesson Dave, next time you change your parkers, leave the screwdriver in the tool box mate

Ah we had a good night anyway, damn nice curry!

Awww, another happy ending. I am sure I deployed a screwdriver the first time I swapped a bulb, then realised I needn't have done that.

I've also scratched the buggery out of a high-quality headlamp bulb trying to fit the damned thing in and get the wire clip back on (bulb had some matt blue coating on the tip of the bulb - was Philips I think). Practice makes perfect, or at least I'm a bit better at it now.

Wished I'd had curry - I had a side-salad at work tonight (and could've sone with just about anything else!!)
