Hi, as you may have read from an earlier thread I recently had a new redback exhaust fitted. It was looking a little plain so I decided to buy a chrome tip to finish it off. The only issue is that the end of the exhaust pipe was quite short and bent sharply which wasn't allowing much distance from muffler to the base of the bumper, so even the shortest chrome tip seems to stick out a fair way. What do you think?
Based on these different angled pics below, I would appreciate the thumbs up or thumbs down from those who would be kind enough share their opinion. Cheers Neil

i think it looks like someone has stood on your tip and bent it.....unless your car shoots flames i dont see the point in down pipes, and quiet frankly think they look rather silly. Each to their own i guess.

that looks a bit weird!

i'd go with a droop tip as mentioned above!

sorry to say mate, not lookin to good(to me anyway). needs to be flush with your rear bar. DO NOT get a down turned pipe it would look even worse in that diameter

Mate what you need to do with that is take it back, cut that thing off and weld on a 3.5" or 4" chrome dump pipe!!

Ive got pics of my car with one of these. Looks alright!

I am having trouble picturing what that would look like (anyone have a pic?). Seriously, as weird as it looks, if the exhaust was straight, they would have needed to cut a decent arch in the bumper as the system is mounted so high without the tip it was already barely clearing the edge of the bumper and as a result had melted it. Keep up the comments and thanks.

looks pretty gay...

u need to hide the exhaust, then no one can figure out where all the noise is coming from until u burst out a HUGE flame flat-shifting into 3rd! :P

I think it is unanamous!! I guess even just posting this thread tells me that I didn't feel it looked quite right. You can still comment of course, but I think I am certain that it will be coming off as soon as I see it again. Cheers all

yeah i agree on the chopping the exhaust bit, but i reckon you shouldn't even bother putting a tip on the end of it ........ whats the point ? i reckon it just makes the car look cheaper if it has a tip on it ..... or a "dump-pipe" as it has been called for some reason , hehe

anyways, its good to see you have an exhuast on your car

later

And I think it's also illegal to have an exhaust tip extend further than the tail end of the bumper..

Get a bigger tip when you replace your straw :D

Dump pipes are handy (they look mad too) if you were in my situation where I wanted to hide my exuast, so I had the muffler mounter higher up and needed a dump pipe to "dump" the gases onto the road instead of expaling them into my rear bumper.

i've got redback muffler as well, but I don't have a tip, full stop. I find them as waste of money. Unless of-course you can find one that is 100% better looking than maybe.

The only real reason why you want your pipe to point down is so the exhaust gases don't get trapped in your bumper and burn a hole in it! hehe... having a dump pipe allow you to tug your muffler higher up as compared to straight tip mufflers.

never been a fan of any of those supercheap extensions.... except the VT SS style... but they charge like $90 for those peices of crap....

Well the tip has gone, and I will take the advice given on board. I guess some the responses were a bit OTT, but better here where we have respect, then on the road eh!? Thanks again... End of thread.

CHROME TIP :rocket:

your exhaust tip should be sticking out more than 100 mm from the ending bit of any car!

and well done for changing that straw!
