Hey.The last two times i tried to fill up my car, a 2005 TW VRX from near on empty,it will only take about 8 litres then the petrol pump gun clicks as it would with a full tank and petrol comes spewing out of the filler hole ala a full tank aswell, the gauge also shows full with only 8 litres put in,but then drops to empty very quick while you drive,so the sender seems fine,,but seem likle a buggered breather etc, anyone had any trouble like this?
Cheers
hmmm weird, I wonder how much fuel the filler neck can take before it is full? Definately a bizarre one this!

sounds like the petrol gauge in the tank is stuffed.

well,i just ripped the back seat out and pulled out the pump and float arm etc from the inspection hole, and bugger me,the tank is as full as a priests ball bag!,so must be a crook sender i reckon
Same happened to me...got the fuel sender replaced on mine....

When you pulled the sender unit and pump out, was the float swinging full range, and not sticking on any of the windings that produce the resistance?
I had one of the senders give trouble, gen new is about $90- so I chanced a 'self serve' wrecker unit, and have had no issues since. I couldn't spot any drama with the one I pulled out, though.

Bet you wish you could get 500km from that 8L fill-up!
