For all you people who have done the 3 -> 3.5L swap, does the 3L ECU have the same plug as the 3.5L ECU?

If not, what are the differences etc

Cheers :D

The auto and manual plugs are different however the 3.0 auto is the same as the 3.5 auto and same with 3.0 manual and 3.5 manual

I have the 3.0 manual ecu running my 3.5 at the moment however next week my 3.5 ecu gets unlocked and will be pluged in

Fantastic, would the 3L Auto differ at all to the 3.5L Tiptronic Auto?

hrrmm, aren't the 3.0L injectors different to the 3.5L injectors? surely the fueling would be poorly tuned at best.

I believe the auto TCU is the difference between the tiptronic and auto cars. I can't imagine there being an issue with an auto 'box being run by a tippy TCU, but vice-versa you might run into probs.

cheers,

Yeah I understand that the tuning on both ECUs will be different with regard to fueling and the TCU, but my actual question is if the plugs themselves are identical.

so you're more interested in the physical aspects of the ECU (i.e. dimensions and connection) than the operation of it...?

I'm assuming you want to upgrade the engine and ECU/TCU of a 3.0L car, but don't want to have to mess with the wiring loom.

Yeah I'm just chasing the physical attributes for now :)
