As the title suggests I've dropped my magna  . This post is a little bit premature though, cause so far I've only put the front springs in, 60 mm lower Lovells, and dam it sits low, looks dam sexy and sleek though, fulsik even some might say. But the scrapage from my drive way isn't cool, might have to do something about that  . And my jack got stuck under the front of the car when I let it down after putting them in, had to lever the car up to get the jack out  .
Gonna take some pics of it 2morrow when I do my rear springs, and post them in this thread but so far Im very happy with the new look of the front, not so impressed by the scrapeage though, but I'll sort it out one way or another  . So if u want a sleek sexy looking magna I suggest dumping it, no doubt about it  .

Hehe...I remember doing the fronts on mine and taking it for a drive...looked way gay and scraped on everything. The scrapage will reduce once you do the rears as it lifts the front slightly. From the front it also wont look as low but still looks good.
One way of reducing scrapage would be to get the old angle grinder and remove the towing hooks  Anyone done this by any chance???? Is the car then defectable??

ummm... perhaps by leaving thoe hooks there, you will actually scrape on the hooks and not on the front spoiler :slap:
haha... yes, id leave the hoooks there.. id rather scrap on the hooks then scrape on your front bar :poke:

LOL...I was not going to remove the hooks...just wondering hehe :shifty:
In any case...I reckon the towing hooks are going to go by default anyway, they are about half worn away already and still scraping :stoopid:

Pics will be up probly tomorrow, I took a few this arvo after finally finding some new batterys for the digital camera but by then it was too dark to take decent pics. Gonna take some tomorrow morning, I'll have some good before and after pics. But yeah, Im real happy with the dumping, all went smoothly enough besides one slipping spring compressor incident, little bit scary but all is good, gotta love them bumps on stock shocks though  .
The front scrapeage was cut back a bit when I put the rears in, if I go up my drive way on a certain angle I can get up it with out scraping. And yeah my tow hooks are already a bit worn down and I only put the front springs in on sunday  .
And I'd also like to add, I love this smiley :jerkit: .

Heres the pics, they didn't turn out to well when I compressed them a bit but it still gives you a fair idea. Should look better again when I get my 17's in about a month, I can't wait :D .

Yeah lol , I needed something something to give an idea of how low it actually sits, something for comparison, I remember booya using a normal size can in one of his pics, and the only cans I had were oversized woodies  . And that dam shadow makes the side on pic look kinda funny, anyway no biggy.

When my car was sitting that low I used the Sizzor jack to raise the car slightly to get the trolly jack under it.
I also carry round these two bits of timber.. so I can get onto hoists at the mechanics/wheel aligner etc... I dont know the type of timber.. but it is so light around 1kg-2kg for the pair.

Hope this helps..
Oh and I ALWAYS use the tow hooks to "glide" off the road as Im exiting my driveway.. DONT Cut them off..
On the last cruz I had lowered it so far that over alot of bumps they would hit.. throwing molten sparks out the back onto the following Magnas :D... and at night it look good (so they said ;))

Yeah I was thinking that, just getting two peices of wood that I can drive my car onto raising it enough that I can get my big jack under neath it, it doesnt need to be that much higher so it shouldnt be too hard to figure something out.
But one other thing I've noticed is, because I went 60mm lower at the front and 40 mm lower at the back, the car obviously tilts forwards a bit, but what I didn't think about is how this affects my oil dipstick readings, I know from before that I had a bit over the top notch, and now apparently I have about half a liter too much according to the dipstick, I might just have to be careful when it comes to this and always keep my oil a bit over the top notch, not that I really ever have to top it up anyway, havn't had to put any more in at all for the 4 months or so that I've owned it :D .

hi dude i was looking at ur pics and thought u might have been ripped by lovells.
i have kings 40mm lowered in the front and i did the same thing with the woodstock can and it was about the same height ill post pics up today.
just a thought can u mesure the space between ur crossmember under your motor and the road just to do a comparison mine sits 80mm off the road.
i just dont want to see u get ripped i had this prob in my pulsar (when i lived in qld) i had kings in and one snapped i was in sydney at the time so i got a set of lovells that were the same height (i was told) but when put in they looked like standard height drove back to qld and got my kings replaced (lived near the kings factory) and the car was back at the height it was supposed to be. so i went to sydney the next month and told lovells where to stick there springs. so if u want to do that mesurment and let me know (just for my info ) just from my experience its kings and pedders and nobody else.
cheers brett.

The lovells came recomended by Dave from RPW. I did before and after measurements from the ground up the middle of the wheel to the bottom of the guard. The lovells dropped my car 5 cm (60 mm springs) which is what I was told the actual drop would be, so no surprises there. And the rears dropped an actual 3 cm (40 mm springs) which is also what I was told they'd actually be, so no big dramas, and I got exactly what I was expecting :D .
