Noticed a few members mentioning removing dents via PDR.

An affective way i've used with success and very cheap is the dry ice method.
Get yourself some dry ice, rub directly over the dent for a few minutes, best on a warmish day, and the dent will pop out.
Works great on small carpark dents etc.

Does it affect the paint in any way?

I've never had a problem Al. I took out a couple of small dents on my GTV without issue and good results.

Be sure to wear HEAVY gloves.

what severity of dent can the dry ice remove? fr instance, on mums subaru, there's a dent probably the size of a golf ball which is only slightly inwards. it was a 4WD door that was opened onto the door.

where can ya get dry ice from? excuse my ignorance :P

It should work. Just might take a lil longer. Rub around the dent area for a few minutes, keep going till its gone.

I have an ice supplier fairly close by.

I've seen this on youtube few years back but haven't tried it yet. Some people claimed it worked but some don't.

Yeah, works best on newer cars, thinner metal. I wouldn't use it for a 55 Chev...

wow sounds good

using extreme cold to pop dents

also when you are finished with the dry ice you can dump in a bucket and watch it fog up the garage

im presuming that normal ice wouldnt be cold enough??, maybe on small dents??

Correct, normal ice is not cold enough.

CO2 might work then, they used to have glass chillers you could use to chill warm glasses and they get really icy covered in frost so you gotta watch your fingers. Another alternative -time to aquire and crack a few CO2 fire extinguishers ehh :ninja:
