Hay all

While my box is out im thinking of down grading to a less heavy duty clutch than my evo one. Options are a standard magna heavy duty clutch. Or a Ceramic plate clutch with a light pressure plate i think the pressure plate is stock on this one thats what i like about it. What do people think.?

Thanks Kurt

Kurt all 3rd gen specific threads are to be posted in the 3rd gen section of the forum, not the general tech section.

Thanks

mate, a ceramic clutch is the last thing you need... you'll do big damage with that..

magna heavy duty is roughly same as stock evo clutch...

if you really cant change your driving habits then i guess your only choice is a standard magna clutch....

but its not going to mean you can thrash the sh1t out of your car and not break things.. a stock clutch has more than enough grab to break things if the car is treated bad enough

Heres the loading

evo 9 1340kg
std hd 1020kg
std 850kg

So Evo 9 clutch has even more loading than the upgrade from a standard to a standard heavy duty.

I had an Xtreme HD organic clutch with standard machined flywheel in my Verada
This was with Sprintex power going through it and i never had any problems

I'd go with something like Mohit mentioned, definately not ceramic button you'll change your mind real quick when you start trying to drive it round town.

If you dont wanna knock your box around go get an old warn out clutch from wreckers, or like someone else mentioned change your driving style

Don't mention driving style to Kurt . . . . he just doesn't get it. Never has. Never will.

Just use a standard clutch and treat the car gently, like the rest of us. It is NOT a racecar, or dragster. No more burnouts or full throttle shifts. MMM'Kay?

I went for a Heavy duty exedy clutch and a Fidanza Alumunium Flywheel.
I drive it hard but not killing it and it hasn't missed a beat.
