Hey guys recently got hold of an iPhone, and have started to load all my music onto it so i dont take my cds everywhere. Now due to the shitty battery life i bought a generic iPod car charger off eBay for it. When i play music off my iPhone throught the deck its great. But as soon as soon as i try to charge it using the car charger and play music at the same time, i get a loud buzzing sound through all speakers.
Any way to stop this bar not charging and playing music from my phone at the same time?
Cheers

It could be the noise coming from your alternator. You can try ferrite clamp-on to elliminate the noise.

Its just the standard deck that came with the car lol using an aux cable to plug into the front of it

hmmm then im guessing its the wire from the charger interfering with the AUX cable
dont think theres much you can do about it unless you pop the AUX cable under the console itself

Ahhhhh soooo yeh wonder who else in WA could help me lol
Hahah damn ebay makes it too easy to buy car audio gear. Looking at one of these JVC UNITS (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1116601&postcount=1655). What you guys think good enough to run a simple system, alpine 4 channel running front speakers and sub, and unit itself doing rear fill speakers?

Don't be a hater, just because I got in first lol.
Simple is best mate, I ran a similar set up ( except 2x 2ch amps ) with great success! Even a unit with 1 RCA outputs can do it, remote sub control is handy to have.

Cool will send him a PM. Damn may just but this one lol
Looks pretty good, have a Alpine MRV F545 amp i think it is, the top of the line 4 channel from couple yrs ago so this HU plus that amp plus maybe new speakers and it will be sweet
BlackBull

my input is that the ipod might not be quite compatible with the HU maybe because thats the problem with my HU but it works fine just says on iphone that might not work or get quilty wont be as good.....
so maybe have a look for updates/HU info to see it it works with Iphones and such ;)
sorry if this has already been said....

Classic case of induced current i feel.
You can get some Sheilded cable from Jaycar and build an AUX cable out of it.
You might even be able to find some sheilding and wrap your AUX cable with it to get you by till you change you head unit.

Its just the standard HU from Mits, plays perfect until i try to charge it at the same time. Am just gonna upgrade to a JVC HU. Couple members have recommended one to me. Had one lined up on eBay but it went for like $550 and it wasnt Aus stock so will jus bide my time til the right one comes up. May chuck up a WTB thread on here actually

Yeh went on their site for a look, the one im after is out of production though and the new unit retails at like $900 on Ryda. So will be tough to find unless can find someone with it still in stock. The new features brought in on the replacement unit arent important to me, so im not gonna pay the extra dosh

Arrggg my iphone started making this high pitched noise today while I was charging/listening to music. Gets louder and louder as engine revs so looks like alternator whine. I just cant understand why this is happening now coz its been fine for the past 3 weeks....

Insted of using a car charger for your iphone which i dont like anyway. Use a car usb adapter and plug your ipod cable into that. I got one from repco for $15 and it works a treat, has a seperate fuse and i get no interference.

Currently I use a usb/ciggy adapter which I plug my white usb cable into, which then goes back up to my iphone... I know my adapter has a fuse, but im still managing to get that interferance.. :(
Its just so weird that it has started making this noise after working everyday for 3 weeks... Im thinking maybe the ciggy/USB adapter maybe wasnt plugged in properly or something...
