I'm about to get back into a 3rd gen and I was wondering if the wicked looking digital dash cluster that is in the KJ Verada Xi's can be fitted to other Verada's or Magna's with the normal type cluster? I just love the look of it.

Anyone ever seen one for sale or at a wreckers?

I think perhaps your thinking of the older digi dash. This was only on veradas from te - tj1. Its more curved and has the odo sit out from the bottom of the display, and the trip computer is up the top of the dash. KJ2 onwards verada & sports models etc has a one piece hi-res dash with the odo set into the dash, and the trip computer is built into that display.

i'm not sure now, I just know its like black when it is turned off. Then when you turn the ignition it sorta lights up, the dash is still black but all the needles and the guage marks(ie 10-20-30-40...klms) are lit up. Hard to explain.

Not completely, the numbers are still visible but a very light and depending on light difficult to see.
I just love the 4 stage light up. :D
In the pic I want to change the numbers from white to electric blue like in the 380's. Don't know if it can be done.

Yeah pretty sure thats it, they light up when the ignition is on though don't they not with the headlights?

They turn on when key is turned, without the need for headlights being on.

Yea, my gf has the verada with that nice dash, i have a TH, i took it out and tried to fit it in mine, THE connections are different, so it doesnt fit.

Just for the record, lol i was gona buy one and wanted to make sure it fits before i buy it.

So what model does this dash type come in?

I'm buying a Rada its a TJ2(should have it thurs) so if they only suit Rada's i'm hoping itll fit in. Now I need to find out how much they cost.

You're buying a 'rada? Didn't all KJs come with the high contrast clusters?

Mals dash is for verada's up to tj1. verada's from tj2 and on have a dash like grelise :)

No idea, but i would have my doubts. Mainly becuase they have different functions. The tj2 on has the trip comp (avg fuel etc) in the cluster, where the pre tj1 has the trip comp with the dash clock in the upper dash. I would imagine the extra wires for these things at least would be all over the joint.

Can be done if you change the harness. You will need a center trip display as well for the other functions.

No need to rewire if you have the right harness - everything will work with no problems.

With regard to price, I have a standard centre trip display here - you can have it for $30.

A cluster is harder to come by, especially one with low kms. The last cluster and harness sold for about $150 I think.

What Verada are you looking at?

Its a pewter 02 GTV, one owner. Always loved em, I always wanted a GTVi but a bit too pricey the ones I found.
