i got a problem with my reverse lights switch, it abit screwy and i dont know why, i take the switch out of the gearbox and push the switch in and everything seems to work. I put it bak in and nothing

any ideas

its stuffed by the sounds of it buy a new one

well i dont know coz you take the switch out of the box and push it in and nothing let it out and the on (that was earthing it on the batt)

yeah i had the same problem with my first 3rd gen a couple of years back just bought a new switch and worked perfectly, i may have a working one in my parts car if your interested

Might be a problem with the wiring mate. Is the plug corroded? Sounds like it is stuffed. Although you said you earthed it to the battery....what happens when its just left plugged in?

ok thanks TUFFTR i went and check the loom and there was a short where i joined the wires for a new switch when i done the manaul convertion

I had the same problem with my Elante. I think that the part of the switch which pushes in and out must wear and not make contact after a while.

I found the problem it was apart where my brother wired the new switch in.
