the rears are different on the sedans
the 2nd gens are wider springs

the front shocks may be the same for the 4 cyl models

See if any Shock brands (Monroe etc) list a different part no: in online catalogues - if there are any part number the same you at least can be certain they interchange. If part numbers differ, you at least know there are "supposed" to be differences.....

yer ok here my thought i believe they will fit if i put my strut top on a 2nd gen shock so the top would fit in, also in saying that i would have to trial fit it

for a eg i know you can put a vt front shocks into vl you just have to change the sturt tops which is a fact

For starters, last I looked a VT and VL were not even made by mits so I fail to see how this can even be a comparison

Secondly, why do you want to fit second gen dampers to a first gen?? You can get a similar range for the first gen anyway

The dampers are totally different, you will find that the upper mount on the shaft is totally different, the lower brake hose mount is different and from memory the mount angle for the lower bracket is also different.

Really no advantage at all in going to all this work for no gain at all
