Greetings all!

Looking through Craigslist last night I found a nice pair of eletric diamante black leather front and rear seats. The postage for these seats are inexcess of $600, so the seller has informed me that they are willing to sell me the leathers and the electric motors if I am interested.

So my question to all you MagnaManiacs (:P) is - Can diamante leathers fit straight over 3rd gen seats? Or does it need to installed by a professional reupholsterer? I really wanted the seats entire (they're bucket seats) but it'd cost me upwards of 1K for the lot, which is alot of money consdering I can buy leather covers for $800.

So - what are our thoughts? Will the leathers fit - should I go ahead and buy the leather covers and motors?

Thanks!

Where are you getting full genuine leather retrim for $800?

And if the seats are a different shape (which it sounds like they are since you said they are bucket seats) the trim would probably be different to account for this.

Not a retrim - I meant those cover you can buy and place over the seats. Full leather retrim is probs 1.5K+ easy - not what I was thinking. I might see if I can get a second hand set off a Verada sometime maybe.

If anyone is interested here are some pictures of the seats. They look like they could fit. They're off a Diamante VRX.

cant tell from the pics if they have side airbags, but that would be a major problem for shipping them here if they did have them.

I thought the cars with side airbags had plastic on the sides where there appears to be leather on these?
Or am I wrong.

i have seen alot of japanese diamantes and they are identical, provided they are not bonded to the foam you should have no issue fitting them.

I would suggest that the seat base for the drivers side would be different to mount the electric motors.

So you two reakon they'll fit without having to use a pro? I'm guess you've been fortunate enough to see both type of seats and are using that as a comparison? Thanks again for the post by the way :)

I believe the electric motors are underneath the seat padding. Someone correct me if I'm wrong?

What I would really like to know whether they'll need professionals to install them?! Becuase if they do then I might as well just buy those $600 covers on ebay and not spend $800 or more with retrimming and buying these ones off the US.

Please Please Please Please help :D

the motor does sit under the seat, the base is the same. i cant tell you how hard it will be to fit them over as i have never done it before.
