I've got a factory TJ electric antenna sitting here that I would like to fit to my TJ Exec.
As you know the Exec's didn't come with the electric antenna wiring harness.

The electric antenna I have here as a square plug on the side of it with 8 pins. Can someone help me with what each pin does so I can connect it?
I though there where only 3 wires necessary, +12V, earth and a trigger wire from the head unit. Why 8 pins??

Cheers Guys,

Mitch.

The reason some have more wires is due to the ability of the unit to do a 'half height' function.

Not all the motors will do it, and to get it working just have a look at a previous thread CLICKY. (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53413)

If you have any questions, just shoot me a PM.

Thanks Mike !!! :)

That's exactly what I need. I did look through the PDf manual but obviously wasn't looking in the right area.

My HU doesn't have the half hight feature. I'm not too worried about that, I just want to get the thing working.
So, Pins 1,2&5 are +12V; Pin 7 antenna trigger and Pin 8 earth. That should give me full up and full down. Right?

Cheers.

I believe so, I will check with my wiring in my car and get back to you. In my car, I have a switch seperate from the HU which controls the Antena height. So, all the switch does is transfer the trigger wire power from the HU, to either Pin 7 or Pin 6.

The half height function is controlled in the actual Antenn motor. so supplying those two wires with the mentioned switch will make the antenna adjustable. The switch chose also has an Off setting. (on/off/on) that way, i can make the Antenna retract if needed. Say, while listening to a CD in a carwash!

Ill get back to you about the wiring in my car.
