A while ago I made a thread called 'bunch of questions' and you were all very helpful.
So today I finally got my exhaust on. So the important stuff is done now.
Heres a sight we've all seen before:

So heres the new pics:

The new exhaust tip:
http://i26.tinypic.com/2qlcyo7.jpg
2x 12" Clarion subs and 1x 12" Pioneer subs. Can definitely hear me coming.
http://i32.tinypic.com/r0a5ty.jpg

So I got the lukey muffler you all suggested (must be rare to have a newbie ask for advice and then actually follow it right). Its very subtle and theres almost no drone on the highway which is good. Its not quite as loud in 1st as I would have liked but thats fine. But it really sounds best in 2nd from about 1800-3000 and then it sort of quietens down again. Just means I can pull away from breath tests without the cops wanting to give me a ticket.
I got a new alpine head unit in there but I really should have gone with the DVD player like I wanted. I drive A LOT and I should have been more patient but oh well. Live and learn. I can always sell the thing on ebay and get the dvd player.
One last thing... I got the new low springs and shocks and I think it looks great but it still makes a bit of a crunch when I go over speed bumps (no matter how slow I go). I thought replacing the shocks would fix it, but it hasnt helped at all. Does that mean my CV's are done?
Still have to get the headliner replaced and a new steering wheel but thats little stuff. Thanks to all again for the help.

The amps on the clarion subs is a clarion amp. Bout 800 watt or so. I forgot honestly. I had them in my garage since I sold my sss pulsar. The Pioneer sub has a 400W Kenwood amp.
The rims are called speedy obsession (http://images.google.com.au/images?hl=en&source=hp&q=speedy+obsession+rims&btnG=Search+Images&gbv=2&aq=f&oq=).
And thanks, I like them too. They're 18s. Thankfully I've never seen a lancer with these rims on it. That helps me sleep at night.

How much was your lukey muffler if you don't mind me asking/

Very bassy....
Seriously though, it sounds fine. They're all facing outwards and the bass just sort of goes outside and annoys everyone else in their houses and crap as I drive past. I was washing my car in front of my gf's house had the bass up and it was shaking the glasses and the ceiling in her house but when I sat in the car it wasn't unbearable. Reallllly damn loud, but not unbearable.
Only speakers in the car are alpine 6" speakers in the front door. Nothing in the back.

Was 213 delivered from supercheap auto. Repco tried to charge me 400 delivered. Wtf is that about? Bunch of jerks.
It seriously does sound like the muffler in the VRX. Tame, but lets you know its there when you thrash it.
EDIT: And the msg in your profile is right, the muffler is bolt on. The muffler guys charged me 10 bucks to put it on. Wicked huh?
DOUBLE EDIT: Yeah its decent, keep in mind though, its not rice at all. Its very subtle.

Well I've had subs in every car I've owned so I'm used to it. My very first cart was a TE magna and I loved it (i crashed it bout 4 times though and it ended up at the wreckers) but my prev car was a Pulsar sss with subs + a cannon exhaust and I missed having a magna so much that I went out and bought one again.
And yeah, cannons are boring and unsophisticated in my opinion.

Tbh I would of gone with different tips, I don't really like how they sit/the style of them, never-the-less as long as your happy with the note etc good job!
I also think you should get another pioneer sub, maybe make some customs boxes and fit them to the sides of the boot - that'd be awesomeness!
As previously mentioned, rims look the goods! Just lose the mudflaps!!
Cheers.

I wanted these:

but the place didn't have them and I couldn't be screwed waiting for my next day off to get it all installed so I just went with what they had.
And I totally agree about the pioneer subs. I think its ridiculous the way it is now, but you have to agree funny to look at though. and when I'm driving around no one sees em. I'd love to have some symmetry (and a place to put things in the boot) but I'm really out of money at the moment.
Also, I can't get the rear mudflaps off, I took the front ones off cos I could just turn the wheel and I had room behind it, but my tools can't squeeze behind the back wheel to loosen the nut :(

That would have definitely looked better on my car, but these rims only costed me 50 bucks. My mate works at a tyre shop in campbeltown and some guy bought these back in and bought another set and he sold me those cheap. Only set of 18s I could afford at the time (lots of financial commitments at the moment).
And yes the subs are overkill and ridiculous. That's the point :)

Yeah. and no, i probz won't get sick of it. I've had subs in my cars for years. My gf sayas she hear me bout 30 secs away lol.
A few more things to do, like replace headliner, get the DVD player in there that I wanted, new steering wheel, and my wishlist is put in a low kms sports or vrx engine, or put in a leather seat for the front driver side.

on the leather you could look into the 380 leather interior. i know that some guys in SA got a set into a 3rd gen, took some work, if you looked im sure youd find the thread. and likely would be cheaper as 3rd gen leather is quite rare compared to the 380 where all GTs and a significant portion of VRXs came with standard. im sure other will offer thoughts on that...
with the headliner, id recommend maybe hitting up shops that instal sunroofs as ive seen some really schmicko jobs done by these kinds of business' or were you a DIYer?
oh and wouldnt worry bout the sports or vrx engine as far as im aware (and no expert on 3rd gens) the engine itself is the same as standard, the power difference between the two came from the exhaust. im sure someone will confirm or correct...

The engines are the same man, just the muffler was replaced, so effectively you have a "VRX engine".

I heard its a pain in the ass. And for 180 bucks, I'm sure that wont break the bank too much.
I didn't even think bout getting a 380 seat. I'll have to look into that when i get my next pay packet. thanks for the advice.
