Hi all,

Just had by TJII Advance looked over by the RAA before the warranty runs out. All good except for one thing which is being fixed by the dealer on Thursday.

These were the exact words on the report:

"No.6 cylinder spark plug tube seal leaking oil"

What does this mean? Anything to be too worried about?

Thanks,

Dave

the seals around the spark plug tubes go hard with age and cause oil to seap into the tubes. No biggie, as long as it gets fixed. Make sure plugs and leads are OK

I replaced all of mine about 3 months ago. cost about $150-200 in parts i think.

That inclubed replacing the rocker cover gaskets aswell.

Its a fairly simple, but big job.

Try to get them to replace all of them as if 1 has gone the others wont be far off.

Is a quick job, top manifold off, remove covers, clean and replace cover gaskets and seals, good sets should cost you mid $90's for the pair

If under warranty, they will need to replace whole bank, RAA will not have checked rear bank so there is a good chance they are also leaking
