Hey you knowledgeable guys out there, I need some help with a coupla questions. Has anyone used US-AUDIO speakers (comments please). Will 61/2 inch speakers fit easily into front doors of TJ. I want to use the original factory grilles and am not keen on cutting? How about using co-ax 6 (61/2) inch speakers in the doors and still running the factory flag tweeters? HU is 4 ohm, so what happens if I run 3 ohm speakers? Anyone had experience with VDO speakers. I am leaning towards Kenwood speakers. Anyone have knowledge of Clarion speakers? All help appreciated. I am going to throw some speakers into the car, no amp and use the Pioneer head unit I fitted a while back.

I really like the sound of Clarion 6" or 61/2" speakers for the fronts.
If you are putting 6x9" in the parcel tray i like JBL best bang for buck.
But they are my preferences. and i also like Clarion subs.

Wow slow down a bit. You are in Autobarn no doubt.

Listen to everything in your budget as decide what is best for your ears taking into account your future plans ( amps or not etc ). Don't look at the brand name as such. Not a good idea with your set up to run the factory tweeters and co-axials.

Yes you can run a 3ohm speaker off the factory / aftermarket headunit. Don't listen to the crap about it being "heaps" louder and basing that as the reason for purchasing.

You will be able to fit anything up to 8inch easily in the doors, and 6.5inch in the factory plastic baffle. You will need to take the whole door trim off to get to the speaker. Easy to do, 3 screws and a hole lot of clips.

Perhaps you could look at a cheap component set ( woofer plus tweeter separate ) and replace both your factory woofer and tweeter? Look for a highish sensitivity 90db + if you intend to only run these off a headunit now and in the future.

What sort of budget do you have?

I'm a bit iffy about 3 ohm on a head unit though... I'm just cautious though.

Wanna keep it under $500. Will do the work myself and not in mood to get too involved, so using Pioneer HU that I fitted some time ago (won't fit an amp). So true, need high sensitivity speakers.

Is that a budget of $500 for splits in the front and coaxials in the back? I know you have said something to that effect but I just want to confirm that with you.
