View Full Version : Oil leak following incident

I accidently drove over a concrete kerb in a service station car park last Fri eve, which connected with the underside of the car - not a nice sound. Took a quick look and some marking on the shields underneath the car, but didn't think too much. It appears there is a minor oil leak now - there is some oil dripping from the sump region (fairly slowly, only losing a little), so I'm guessing I may have damaged or cracked the sump.

Any thoughts on what I should be doing with this? Thanks D

1. verify what's actually leaking.

2. replace damaged parts.

3. continue driving as normal, using greater caution when driving in car parks!!

seriously, you don't want to drive with a damaged sump pan. they're reasonably cheap from Mitsu and simple to replace if you can spin a spanner.

cheers,

Thanks W. Yes, will be taking a closer look this eve... hopefully it's something easily fixable. I will have to take extra care, esp since my car is now considerably lower than it was previously. Note to self: avoid dodgy car parks at night!
