Hey guys,
as you might know i have a 3.5L DOHC engine which im planning on putting the heads on my factory 3.5L
The main issue between the two is that the DOHC is coilpack and my current setup is dizzy
Are there any benefits of going to coilpack or would the dizzy be a good setup to use?
With use of the dizzy i could possibly get away with the stock ecu + unlock/tune by steve knight... maybe

You cant use the dizzy as there are no provisions in the DOHC head for it, should of asked me dude. You HAVE to use the coilpacks. Only other benefit is that they are pretty much non servicable

Simply consistency in spark. According to the parts centre though the reason dizzy caps and rotors for the 6G are so expensive ($215) is because they rarely wear.. whereas i had a highly modified 4cyl with an upgraded LX91 Crane Cams coil... the spark was so strong that the rotor contacts burned/chipped away and was pitting causing inconsistent ignition timing because the spark would jump from a random location on the rotor onto the dizzy cap contacts.
However go with the setup your chosen tuner is more comfortable with I dare say it's going to be the coil-on-pack setup though. Last I checked, i don't recall seeing an external coil for the 6G that can upgraded anyway
***EDIT***
TUFFTR: Good point lol. got nowhere to mount it due to the twincam per head

The coilpacks and standard leads on these motors are good for low 10 second cars so they dont need to be upgraded, basically, until you do low 10's.

Pretty sure I already told you this nublet but the ones off the V6 2L DOHC Galant's are the same part. I can lend you one no worries but its for my 3L DOHC so I will eventually need it back (In no rush)
