Heya Guys
Got yet another question this time on the magnas headlights. The other day I upgraded the globes in my car to the hella/osram plus 50's and I'm very happy with the new colour although I'd still like a bit more distance out of my right headlight (noticeably less distance than left light) I've heard I may need to realign the globe. Anyone have a guide on how to do this? When I installed the globes I figured it would be a ten minute job which quickly turned into an hour as they are so damned fiddly to get out so would like to know how to do this properly before diving in. Other than aligning are there any other easy tweaks for the lighting?
thanks

hey man - to align them you are meant to park your car on a flat surface about 10m's from a solid wall and then use the screwing parts at the top of the headlights and turn them until the lights are level.

i still need to do it to mine after replacing the right headlight (damn stone put a hole in it) but i aint got around to it yet!!

here is what i know about aligning you cars head lights

park you car on a leveled surface from a wall at about 7.5 meters

then adjust you headlights

best time to set the head lights around 6pm (winter times)

always adjust them on low beams first

low beams:

dont make them too high , at 7.5 meters (i.e around 22Feet they should be close to ground level .

also Very important

make sure that light adjustment are in Line to the car i.e lighst are actually covering the front road and not the sides right or left

hope it might help \:D/

Heya Manual
Thanks for your reply your always so quick :) Ok that actually sounds easier than I thought it would be. From reading the message it sounds as though the right light should be as high as the left light? if thats the case from driving around it seems as though my right light needs a fair bit of adjusting! (the left light seems to extend around 20metres more than right)

edit: big thanks to kewlsolara as well will definately give that a shot

No, right beam is supposed to be slightly lower than left
It's adjusted this way to prevent blinding oncoming traffic, left is slightly higher to provide better coverage of edge of road and is designed to spread to the left slightly as well. Take it to a workshop as they should have a proper lens aligner(they have to by law to carry out roadies)
If you have lowered your car this can also affect your headlight aim.

What scubasteve said is correct.

You can do it yourself. But youre always best to get it professionally done as they will have the specs the light should be angled at and can then get it perfect for you.

Yeah my dad actually mentioned something along those lines. Just wish I could get another 10metres out of the right one :)

Get some TJ sports Lights like mine
They come with inbuilt levels... no crap.
It wa a 2 second job ok maybe 2 min job on a level road... go the bubble in the middle of the level (19 degrees apparently) and thats that.
