Hi everyone,
I just stumbled upon a great USA On-line parts supplyer.
I needed to replace the camshaft synchronizer on my AU XR8 (Windsor V8). Ford Aust. wanted over $800 for one, so after searching "FORD FORUMS" I came across others with the same problem and a link to a US parts supplyer.
www.rockauto.com
I got an aftermarket synchronizer for $us43 + $us25 priority shipping, landed at the front door by Fedexpress 5 days later, with the current exchange rate a total of $aus82. Its installed and works a treat. ( I could have had a genuine Motorcraft one for $us93.)
They have lots of parts for 6g72-3-4-5 engines (Diamante/Galant) i.e Hydraulic timing belt tensioners, Dorman 420-106 $us43 or a Dayco $us76 - Gates timing kits belt, idler, tensioner $us53.
Check it out you might find it a lot cheaper to import a part than buying in Aus. The great exchange rate helps at the moment.
So many engine parts etc are the same in the USA eg Toyota, Hyundai etc. Rockauto seems to have stuff for everything.
