Hi guys

Im hoping someone will be able to shed some light on this.

When i set my cruise control, it doesnt hold its speed. If i set it at 100, it will slow to 85ish before holding speed, and on the slightest hill, will drop out.

It almost feels like the accelerator cable for the cruise has come loose, and when its giving the car all its got, its only using about 5% throttle.

Does anyone have any pointers on where i should start looking? Im driving to sydney in 2 weeks and was hoping to have it working by then.

Thanks

are they the little rubber hoses that sit ontop of the throttle body?

and check the 4 screws which hold the top plate down... I lost one at some time, and my cruise still worked for a while, but then stopped. tighten them up!!

Check the vac pump and the val line that goes to the dashpot on top of the TB

Also check the diaprham on the dashpot, is it the original TB or one of the change over high flow ones. If it has been changed check the screws are tight and also check internally for corrosion

Thanks guys, was a vacuum hose. We had the manifold off the other day changing sparkplugs, and must have knocked the hose off its brackets. Its fallen down and touched the motor and has a whopping great big hole in the side of it. Did a quick test with some electrical tape over the hole, and it works fine. Ill look at getting a joiner and cutting that part out tomorrow.
