Hey all,
My rear vision mirror broke today,
and i was wondering how easy / hard it is to remove the one i have on the window at the moment,
and then put the new one on..
will it stick or do i have to buy glue stuff for it...

and are wreckers the best place to get a replacment one? or should i get a brand new one?

They clip on to a mount that is glued to the glass, u just need to replace the mirror, I think from memory they slide up, and there may be a tab that u need to flick to unlock it.

i am getting a new windscreen on Monday as mine has a crack :(
so i might wait untill then to change it...

when i broke mine and went to the wreckers to get a replacement he told me that theirs no point getting another te-th one becase they all have dodgey tab like things that will break just like the one that i had.. he told me that the newer models had a different type of mirror that didnt have these tabs and they dont break so easy... me being lazy just went for the TE -TH and sure enough its dodgey as and is onlyy being held on by one tab, it falls off sometimes i have to slide it back on...

so pretty much try and get a newer mirror when they change yours then ask them to put the new mirror up for ya!

yes u need to ask for a TJ windscreen, that has the TJ window mount and grab a TJ mirror too, as a TE mirror wont fit a TJ mount

TJ windscreen will fit, is only the position/type of mirror-mount that differs, IIRC. TE has mount up near edge of screen, TJ has mirror mounted on a button about 10cm or so down the screen.

then your all sweet, when i got my window replaced, i orded a TH window, and i had a TH mirror

sorry for hijack but how exactly do you get the mirror off? mine rattles like buggery from sub's and its annoying.

It's a bit "Hello Australia" but the open edge of a bread clip fits into the bottom of the mount and stops most of the mirror's vibration :-)

went to get my windscreen today from obrien, but apparently the windscreens dont come with the mirror mount anymore, so i have to go and buy one then take the car back then they can do it...
