Hi, i have an extremely annoying problem. My rear right brake on my TF wagon makes a rubbing/grinding noise when i brake. The slower and lighter the braking pressure, the louder it makes the noise, to the point it sounds like a grinding.
Braking performance is completely fine and i can't feel anything at the pedal, but it just become too much for me, i want it gone. It only makes a noise it one point of rotation.
Could it be the handbrake rubbing? I just had the car serviced and they told me they couldn't see anything wrong, but suggested that it could be the handbrake. I had all pads changed and rotors machined in December, and the pads still have 4mm left in them.
Any suggestions?
Cheers, Grant.

hi grant
it could be the indicator tab on the pads starting to rub or it could be the backing plate rubbing against the rotor
but all this depends on when the noise started if the pads have about 4mm left which is not much it could be the indicator tab rubbing if you are still worried about it i can take a look for you my contact number is 0410999646

Hey Liam, thanks for the reply. To be honest i'm surprised that the pads are worn to 4mm, as they were only new in December and i don't do a lot kms, so my (un-educated), guess is that it isn't wear indicators, but happy to be proven wrong in it all.
If it's ok i may well take you up on that offer, will just need to work out a time that works for you. All good though if you can't though, i just appreciate you making the offer.
I'll be in touch.
Grant.
