Hey guys i got a problem with my car there is water leaking from the top of the radiator, so the radiator needs replacing basically.

My other issue is that the fans dont seem to be running at all, my mom drove the car and when she got home the engine was too hot no more water in the radiator and the fans were not on.

Ive connected power to the fans to make sure the fans are still working which they are but i cant seem to test of the fans turn on at all by means of the water temperature sensor to see if its buggered or if there is something else causing the fans not to turn on, all the fuses are fine and the relays are working but not sure how to test the fans properly to make the car think its hot enuf to make the fans turn on.

Anyone know how to test the fans ?

If your radiator needs replacing from leaks, then its probably a sensor that controls the fans getting starved of water. Water temp sensors only work when put into water, as air is a pretty crappy conductor of heat. Try replacing the radiator, and see what happens when the car gets hot. If the car gets too hot for too long, you'll end up with a blown head gasket/s, meaning you might as well replace the whole engine as replacement of the heads will be a fair bit of money.

This got me too when the water pump belt went on my car, the fans only run sometimes (not even all the time when hot) chuck your air con on and they should come on too.

But is there anyway to force the fans to turn on from like the water temperature sensor so make sure that they do turn.

Ive already tested the fans connecting them to the battery and they run fine the thing it want to ascertain is if the water temperature sensor needs replacing as well
