Hi to all, I am getting my next derby car up and running for parramatta speedway on Saturday night and have some questions.
I got this TS wagon off me brother in law after it was cooked and blow the head gasket. I run it at Gosford a few months back (with the head gasket gone) and it drove OK but got hot quick. At that deby it was a very wet night and the derby was called stoped after 5 mins as it was to wet.
I picked up the car last night from my mates place where I had it stored and it would not run. It would start and then stall. I think there is a problem in the Air flow meter or maby fuel pump/fuel pressure reg.
I have pulled off the head today and found there was not much wrong with the head & pistons. The head gasket was blowen between pots and water was leaking into the pots from the small water holes near the flame rings. I got a new gasket today and was planing to put the head back on in the morning with alot of gasket goo as it only needs to run for around 30 mins at the most.
Now my question here is if I put on an early magna carby & manifold will the dizzy still work with the original wires if it is not getting a signal from TPS, temp senders, and all the other ECU related items?
I don't have an early dizzy to put in it so will this still work?
I am also putting in a low pressure fuel pump so not to flood the carby.
Cheers and thankyou.
P.S. If any one is going to Parramatta speedway on saturday night look out for the TS Wagon #54.
