Howdy, posted here (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68482) about eratic idle in our TS.
Since then, the gearbox has been serviced, had it to Mitsi where they threw some throttle body cleaner in & it cleared the problem.
Last month it started again, took it to a local mechanic who did the same with the throttle body cleaner (at 1/2 the price of Mitsi  ), now it's doing the same :(

Now local mech was saying more 'n' likely it's this part that has a needle in - much like a needle in a carby - that moves in & out for the idle, this I'm assuming is the ISC?
If it is, are these a simple swap over - unbolt & unplug? No need for fancy equipment or adjustments?
Reason being, there's a TS recently been dumped in a paddock close by which has had some parts pulled off her. If it's a simple job, I'll approach the owner & see if he wants to sell the ISC.
I guess the other question is, is there any difference between the 4 & 6 cyl - for the ISC before the wags here say 'yeah, an extra 2 cylinders' :slap:

The ISC is an easy job.

-Remove Intake pipe at Throttle Body end.
- Under and to the left (when looking into the Throttle body) there will be a plug that goes into a cylinder looking thing. the cylinder is the ISC.
- Unplug that.
-Now, there's one of the screws that are dificult to access with a socket and as such need a screw driver to be used. Make sure you use a correct size one because if you dont and it's tight it'll round the inside of the screw. pretty much just plug and play. the ISC only goes in one way, so it's easy from there:). Best to try and buy a new one though mate, because if you buy a 2nd hand one you'r not sure if you're getting a good one.

The problem does sound like a TPS problem though as I used to have *almost* the same issue (wouldnt stall unless braking hard and turning).

PS; The ISC has a shaft on the end of it which goes into the TB. This may be the 'needle' taht your mechanic is talking about. The TPS has like a rotor inside which grabs two nibs on the throttle body. doesnt sound like that you're after...

Yes TPS , give it a good clean or replace it, gunk builds up and stops it clicking side to side properly!!
