Put some new door cards in today. Looking back now it was probably a silly thing to do - when I had the rear door cards off, I unplugged the power window connector in behind the door while the key was in the "ACC" position because I was listening to the radio. Rear windows won't work from the main power window switch near the gear lever now, but they'll work from their own individual doors.

I'll have a look tomorrow, but do you guys have any ideas? Is it just going to be a fuse? Or have I blown the whole world up?

Cheers,

Brett.

You + Electrial Stuff = Me surprised you didnt turn off the interwebz lol

Are you sure its connected fully? Will they work from their own switches? If they work from their own switches, i doubt it would be the fuse, as i would assume that the one fuse does all.

[off topic]yea the whole world is blown up, car is stuffed, give it me :)[/off topic]
is it a fuse if they still work, independent of the main switch though? at least I have learnt something, don't unplug windows with the ignition on :)

Ok, so Keith didn't read my post, second post learnt something for himself, third post kinda helpful - come on team! :facejump:

I'll check I plugged them in properly tomorrow, I thought maybe someone had done something like this before. Gosh i suck with electrical stuff - see Keith, this is why I don't want to install speakers or anything. :roflwtf:

i'll take a stab in the dark here and say it could be a loose/burnt wire
i know that if the main control unit (center console) is unplugged the rear switches do nothing
pull the trim off and have alook at the harness
do you know someone with a TL to try the main window switch incase thats faulty?

Just an update on this. I haven't had time to take the door trims off again yet, but the rear left one started working by itself this arvo.

I'll suss it out hopefully tomorrow. I don't know anyone with a TL. I'll get it sorted.

I'de be testing ALL the switches at the gear lever firstly for continuanty. Other than that you may have blown something in the Electronic Body module (which may require a new unit), which controls basic window/timing-of controls.

maybe take the main control unit apart?
unclup it from the center console, turn it upside down and use a small screw driver to unclip the top part
turn over (switches facing up) and let the bottom slide down slowly, there are about 8 metal clips.bracket thingys so you dont wanna loose them
i found one of mine suppotrs bent causing the window to stick while going down or not work at all

I definitely do not want to do that, as that is what caused my windows to all not work last time. I actually bought a whole new control unit.
