Gday guys, now i know this is rice but i scored 3 gauges off my brother today so I've decided to install them. I've got them all wired up on the floor but I've got two questions:
1. Where and how do i put in the exhaust gas temp sensor?
2. his sent me a boost gauge, his car is turbo but mine i'nt, apparently i can use it for vacuum? how so?
if u need anything more info to help me out let me know, thanks guys
EDIT: also where is a safe vacuum line i can T into?

1) In the exhaust. (You may need someone to weld a bung into the manifold - best place, but I have seen them in collectors (not that accurate)
2) Yep, if its a boost/vaccum gauge you can measure the intake vacuum (or if you are a riceboy, you can measure exhaust backpressure, which will show as boost).

Alright so where exactly should i put the EGT sensor and connect the vaccuum hoses to?

also, any ideas where to install them im either thinking right near A piller or in the coin tray on the center assy. Ideas?

I have my boost gauge connected to the vacuum line that runs to the fuel pressure reg, but any vacuum line will do. since it's a sealed system, they're all connected and should read the same.
I believe Heath told you where the EGT sensor should be connected. unless you have an existing bung in your exhaust or manifold, you'll need to have one put in.
as to where you put the gauges, I thought A pillar was illegal, but I've seen lots of gauges there. I have my boost gauge in the centre console, under the cup holders. I like it stealth.

I think i will forget about the EGT one for now as i dont really like the idea of drilling a hole in the exhaust. What exactly does the vacuum line look like? I saw near the manifold 3 black tubes with red, green, and yellow lines on them, are they okay?

A vaccum line is those little black hoses, i wouldn't tap into any of those lines, id either tap into the brake line vacuum or your FPR line.
ahaha and were exactly is the brake line or FPR line? sorry i know some shit just not this ahaha

is that the gold looking thing at the right rear manifold? Where can i then get the line thru to the cabin, do you have any ideas?

don't use any of those lines.
the FPR (fuel pressure Regulator) is attached to the fuel rail. it will have a vacuum line run to it (same diameter as the red, green and yellow lines on your throttle body).
cut it in half, put your T section for the boost gauge in, and clamp it all together.
I ran the line through the firewall where the wiring for the ECU comes through. it's a pain in the ass, but I didn't feel like drilling another hole through the firewall.

I would but I have an aftermarket FPR and it's fed from from my supercharger... my pics would do you no good.

ahaha damnit, i found a line coming from the right hand side of manifold then goes to the top of the TB then down the back into a black cylinder? is that the one?

that sounds like your cruise control vacuum line.
does it go from the driver's side of the gold/bronze cruise mechanism on top of the TB all the way around the back of the engine to the driver's side, where it goes into a black cylinder?
below is a pic from the tech manual that show which hose you should use...

the little hat shaped thing that it's connected to is the stock FPR and it's connected straight into the fuel rail.

will grab a pic once my camera comes back to me this evening from family members lol but the line you want for vac is feeding into the back of the intake plenum (6silver pipes going into your engine) its on its own without any others around it and its about 6mm thick. not one of the AEP marked ones this one has no colours from memory. ive had my vac gauge on that for a year and its fine and it does the cool stuff when you accelerate. its good for monitoring the condition of your engine but pretty much just gives you a throttle response read out. Have a look under your bonnet its coming from your engine somewhere but will finish behind the plenum not on the throttle body. ill try get a pic for you if your still lost PM me
