Hey there fellas, I dont ask for help often so here goes.....

Following up on this (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61418) thread.

A while ago when Mohit got his automatic headlights installed, I went out and grabbed the same module that he used (DEI 545T). And it has sat in my cupboard doing nothing for quite a while until I saw the above thread and it reminded me to dig it out.

Basically Im more than capable of doing the wiring etc, I just need some help actually determining where the wires go...

Scan of the wiring guide:

http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/6992/diagram1.jpg

Starting from the top of the list, heres my interpretation of where they go, looking for confirmation or correction if Im wrong before I ruin my cars wiring :)

Using http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/8875/diagran2.jpg diagram from the above thread as a guide.

This unit uses the same relays as the above diagram, this has allowed me to determine the top 4 in the following list.

BROWN - Splice into Black/Red wire in column switch.

BLUE - Earth?

VIOLET - Splice into Red/Yellow wire in column switch.

GREEN - Earth?

And now the actual unit itself:

VIOLET - Irrelevant. Dont want to use wiper function.

GREEN - Irrelevant. Dont want to use wiper function.

YELLOW - Ignition Input....what is this? Does it have to come from the ignition itself or is that a fancy way of saying anything that is on when the ignition is on eg. Ciggy Lighter???

BLUE/WHITE - Aux RF Channel Input. Description is "Connect this to an auxilary channel out put of the security system, the output must provide a validity or pulsed (-) output, a latched channel cannot be used". Im assuing this is so the lights come on/go off when the car is locked.....any ideas on this? Or should I put it in the too hard basket and do without? I only have factory KJ Alarm/Remote Central Locking.

BLACK - Earth.

ORANGE - Ground When Armed. Connect to the ground-when-armed output of the security system. Again, too hard or not???

RED - Constant 12V, no dramas.

Any help appreciated, if I dont get any then well, I havent lost anything either.

Cheers fellas.

For anyone wanting to do this mod with this exact model:

BROWN - Splice into Black/Red wire in column switch.
VIOLET - Splice into Red/Yellow wire in column switch.
BLUE - Earth (used one of the two 10mil bolts right next to the
GREEN - Earth

And now the actual unit itself:
VIOLET, GREEN - only if you use the wiper function. There's better units around though

YELLOW - Ignition Input: hooked up to the big Black with White wire coming straight from the key barrel. Hard to miss. Doing it like this means lights will come on when key is turned to ON/IGN POS.

BLUE/WHITE - Aux RF Channel Input; functions without, most likely needed if you want the lights to come on when using the keyless unlock.

BLACK - Earth. Used same point as above.

ORANGE - Ground When Armed: Not needed to get it working, most likely needed with the Aux RF Input wire

RED - Constant 12V, used the solid red wire from the roof loom close to junction block.

Should be possible. Although, I believe thee are better systems than this one. I have not had a single complaint with the one i use in 3 years. It is more expensive, but you get what you pay for.
DEI make good quality gear. I have a handful of their modules for various things. However, I don't find this unit comprehensive enough.
