Hi Guys,

firstly I have a 2001 TJ Sports Manual.

For some reason, since trying to install a new globe into my interior light, i have been having a problem with my ECU.

It seems to keep resetting itself like the power is being disconnected or something.

Everytime I turn the car off, and try to start it agian i will need to reset wether it is a S (sedan) or W (wagon) and also wether it has a 3.5 or 3 litre engine.

Tha battery is fine and once this is set the ECU the car starts.

I think a fuse might have blown or something but not sure which one.

Since the problem the following things have stopped working:

Interior Light (even though it has a new Bulb in it)
All central Locking, (wether i try to use it by keyring remote or the key itself)

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Tim

Check the fuses in the engine bay and in the footwell mate.

This has been covered so many times before I think this may be in the running for an epic thread

The fuse is located

Wait for it

Is coming soon

Will be here soon

IN THE YELLOW SECTION IN THE ENGINE BAY FUSE BOX, YOU NEED TO LIFT UP THE LITTLE YELLOW PART, REPLACE THE FUSE, PUSH IT BACK DOWN AND YOU ARE GOOD TO GO

Yep.. i had this same thing..
Was on the side of the road at night.
So, I pulled into the servo on the corner and spent about a hour trying to work out which fuse I'd blown that was causing the issue...

As said, the enginbay fuse box, yellow thingie has two fuses in it. One will be blown. Replace it.. Fixed.
Although, I had an odd thing for about 2 hours after I'd done this, the engine would die everytime I pulled up at an intersection. Very annoying.

your engine died because you didnt let the car idle after the ECU was reset, let it idle for a bit so it relearns everything...most people say about 20 mins i think
